Fixed hand saw with a curved triple-toothed blade and belt case. Cuts with half the effort and in half the time compared to conventional saws.
- Blade length: 33cm/4.0mm
Features
The Samurai GC-Series hand saws, with a curved triple-tooth blade, are a patent of Samurai Kanzawa and allow the user to use the entire length of the blade, from the handle to the tip, equally effectively. This way, much less time and effort are required to achieve the same results.
It is noteworthy that, from research and tests conducted by Samurai Kanzawa with saws having a blade length of 330 mm, when a saw with conventional teeth was used to cut a wood with a diameter of 800 mm, 36 reciprocations with a force of 31 kg were needed, whereas, with the use of a triple-tooth saw from the GC-Series, only 16 reciprocations with a force of just 15 kg were needed! Replacement blades are available for all Samurai hand saws.

I happened to try the other model for 12.50 euros through a friend, which doesn't have triple teeth, and I was thrilled. It cut through anything in front of it effortlessly. So I thought, here we are, I will get a good hand saw that won't mess around. I came here and saw (the very good, as is logical) reviews and decided to get the Ichiban model with the triple teeth because I want it for tough and tiring tasks. IT LITERALLY SLAYS! It cuts very quickly and easily even through DRY branches of large thickness, without needing much force. However, for optimal results, the entire blade must be used, and slow, steady movements (pulling-pushing) are required.
Postscript 1: BE VERY CAREFUL how you take it out of its case because this saw does not joke around. My brother, who was a bit rushed, cut his thumb.
Postscript 2: I bought two saws and they came with a gift of two pairs of Samurai work gloves! The packaging also includes a small brochure with the product's features as well as the complete range of tools from the KANZAWA company.
Postscript 3: Since it's a shame to leave a tool like this to its fate, definitely clean it after each use (removing wood residues from the teeth of the blade + applying maintenance oil). This way, you will save money (from frequent blade changes) and always have the tool sharp and ready for action.
Awesome choice (for its price). Lightweight, durable, and incredibly sharp. It requires attention to the way you cut, as it cuts by pulling. Ideal for logs up to 25 centimeters (patience and hands are needed). For very thick woods, I would like it to have a folding and larger handle (see Silky Bigboy) so that I can use it with both hands. Its blade has the perfect thickness, combining strength and ease of cutting.
I take it with me on my winter outings (backpack) where the need for thicker woods is urgent.
Equal to the overpriced Silky, I prefer it not because it is cheaper and cuts just as fast (if not faster!), but because it is well-made, high-quality, and easier to transport AND it doesn't break, like the blades on Silky do. For some reason, you haven't seen a professional farmer using Silky, while on the other hand, I have seen many using Samurai for pruning! The basic models of Samurai are not bad, but they don't cut as fast as Ichiban, nor is the handle as stable as this one, although those with very small hands may prefer the handle on the cheaper models a little better. Personally, I wear Medium-sized gloves and the handle, even though it seems to be made for Large hands, fits me just fine. When I use it, the handle is the most comfortable, stable, and non-slip handle I have ever had on a cutting tool. So it is also the safest.
The large teeth are for fresh wood, so they are suitable for pruning, etc., but I first tested it on completely dry wood and it cut through it like butter and faster than I expected.
Finally, I should note that the blade has the correct geometry (it tapers towards the back to minimize friction!) and yes, it is quite thin, which helps it cut faster and makes the tool more comfortable and easier to transport. Now if some consider this a negative, that is in my humble opinion, a lack of experience and perhaps knowledge. The same applies to knives because in the age of deception we live in, marketing has brainwashed people into thinking that the thicker the blade, the better the tool, but in reality, the more experienced the user, the thinner the blade and simpler the tool they choose!...
Good saw, it doesn't jam, cuts quickly, and withstands, but the blade is relatively thin and flexible and can bend. After a short period of pruning olive trees, my fears were confirmed. The saw lost a tooth while it is feared to bend. For those interested in hard professional use, it is better to prefer the C series from the same company (preferably C-330), which has a thicker blade and half the price, and the same company presents it as heavy duty. Let some ignorant people claim that the thickness of the blade doesn't matter.
Excellent choice for easy and quick cutting. Ideal for small and large branches. Requires special attention to avoid self-injury as its blades are particularly sharp. My choice was the 33cm blade which easily cuts branches with a diameter of 30-40 cm
I bought it after reading the reviews... and I never regretted it! The saw doesn't exist! It cuts wood like butter!!!
Update 12/12/2022 - I used it to cut my wooden doors by 3cm (I installed tiles). The carpenter was asking for 20 euros for each door. I cut 4 doors and pruned whatever tree needed pruning. Even if it doesn't do anything else, the saw paid for itself and more!
CHRIST HAS RISEN, this saw is amazing, it doesn't get stuck anywhere! The only thing it requires is attention and always wearing gloves because if you are absent-minded and don't wear gloves, you're in trouble!
The best saw I've ever had. I got it with a 33 cm blade. It cuts effortlessly... The blade doesn't get stuck at all, it cuts so fast that you can't believe how quickly it cuts... It's a pull saw, as it says, you push and it cuts mainly on the pull, which means it's much less tiring than the usual push-pull saws. You just pull and it cuts effortlessly. You can feel the teeth going deep into the wood and gripping it... You need to cut steadily and not shake it too much because the blade is flexible and there is a possibility of it bending. It hasn't happened to me yet, but when you cut with intensity, you need to be careful... The handle fits perfectly in your hand and doesn't slip at all, even if your hands get sweaty. I don't see any negatives at the moment, except for what I mentioned. I hope it lasts forever and that there are replacement blades available. I've comfortably cut branches up to 15 cm... I've only had it for two days and I'll come back after the winter season.

I've cut over 5 cubic meters of wood and it still cuts satisfactorily well, almost like new, the teeth are in perfect condition. I cut the wood for the year since I don't have a chainsaw. So I cut different types of wood and the maximum thickness I cut was 23 inches and it was pine in 1 minute and 55 seconds. Of course, in a good position. The saw doesn't get stuck in the wood. However, I overdid it once and bent it because it's flexible. So it started getting stuck inside. When I straightened it, the issue was resolved. That's its only downside, but if you cut with caution and not aggressively, it will never be a problem.
The saw is simply perfect for fresh wood. It's slower in dry wood, but it's not intended for that kind of use, while it cuts quite well in wood with moderate moisture, but not as fast as in fresh wood. The blade hasn't rusted at all, it's shiny like in the beginning, and the handle is still intact. Its cutting is light, meaning it doesn't require much force, but the best part is that I can cut with my left hand (with my weaker hand) without the saw getting stuck or causing me difficulty. Compared to a friend's pruning saw, the other one would get stuck and jam in very wet wood, while this one doesn't.
