I bought the grill a few weeks ago and the first impressions are positive. More specifically, for those interested:
* For the assembly, it is better to watch some related videos on YouTube because the manual instructions are very brief and not easy to understand. However, it is not difficult, the assembly includes 4-5 screws with a simple screwdriver. The device can theoretically be removed from its base and placed on a table, but it requires unscrewing and it is probably not very convenient if this needs to be done frequently.
* In terms of construction quality, the principle applies that you get what you pay for, so I didn't have high expectations from the beginning. It is not particularly sturdy or heavy (meaning you have to be careful not to trip and knock it down while cooking, also if it is placed on a balcony that is very windy, it is not advisable to store it upright lightly since it will definitely fall. However, there is no problem leaving it in its normal position with the lid closed). On the other hand, it has decent finishing and is very easy to transport. One small downside is that in the upright storage position, the whole system is supported on one side by the wheels and on the other by the left handle of the grill, it would be better to have a different point of contact with the floor. This is also the reason why it is quite easy for it to fall when in the upright position.
* It has a long cable (3m), easily connects and disconnects, and has a thermostat that practically needs to be constantly set to the maximum. I don't think lower temperatures make sense since the grill is only 1600 watts (update: the power is from 2019, since then the model has been upgraded to 2400 watts), so in almost all cooking cases and obviously during the preheating process (which lasts 3-4 minutes), the switch should be constantly set to the highest setting.
* The lid locks well and does not open, but obviously it does not close completely on the sides for obvious reasons (smoke needs to come out from somewhere, which is generally not bothersome). The opening is about one centimeter on the entire side of the lid. However, since it is equally easy for dust/ashes to enter from there while the grill is stored, it is good to protect it with a waterproof cover. The dimensions of the cover should be at least 1 meter in height and 65-70 centimeters in width/depth (costs around 20-30 euros).
* It is VERY easy to clean, and this is a HUGE advantage compared to gas or charcoal grills, etc. (even if the latter ones cook better). This was a very important reason for me to choose this device because there is no need to disassemble, scrub, clean grates or between plates, gas burners, etc. You simply detach the metal plate (dimensions 35x40 centimeters), wash it under the sink with a sponge (careful, no scrubbing with a wire brush), and it can also be put in a (large) dishwasher, but personally, I don't prefer it. In addition to the plate, there is a small metal tray that collects the fat that is removed and can be cleaned just as easily. Plus, a wipe with a wet cloth on the lid and nothing else is needed. Overall, it takes 5 minutes, in contrast to larger grills where you need half an hour to cook and another half an hour to clean in order to prevent the fats from smoking, catching fire, etc.
* Finally, the most important thing: the cooking itself. So far so good, last time I cooked chicken souvlaki and it took about 25 minutes, they came out tasty and juicy and in general the more I use the grill and learn about it, the better results it has.
Overall, for its price, it is a very honest grill, one of those purchases that you don't regret even if you know that there are better models that are much more expensive.
* Update after 2 years of use: as I mentioned above, according to the official website https://www.firstaustria.de/product/005350-1, the grill has now been upgraded to 2400 watts (from 1600) while maintaining the same price, so it is an even greater value for money because in the original model the biggest drawback was the relatively low wattage. This is no longer the case. It has not deteriorated at all since I bought it, nor has the paint faded. I have it uncovered and set up on a balcony that gets a lot of wind all winter, but it doesn't show any signs of wear and tear.
I cook more vegetables than meat, but it does a very good job with both (always considering the proportions, I won't compare it to grills that cost five times as much). The side table next to it is a huge convenience. In the meantime, I also bought a round charcoal grill with a lid, which obviously does a better job but requires much more effort, both for lighting it and for cleaning or storing it. Of course, the latter is not suitable for use on a balcony due to the smoke, so this is where First Austria makes a big difference. If you need to grill on a balcony and want to save space, electric is the only option. If you don't have such limitations, then charcoal or gas (with the latter also having the corresponding cost, of course).
