"The scent from our rosebushes will lead us back. We won't get lost," Drosos told Areti, even though he knew it was a lie: their rosebushes had burned along with their first life. In their new life, they live in a theater box with a woman they don't know who claims they are her children. Their dreams and nightmares mingle with those of the other tenants and with unknown shadows. Perhaps that's why Areti decides to live hidden inside a trunk; until one day she mysteriously disappears.
A boy who makes a living as a market errand boy, a girl who daily sews and unravels her wedding veil in a transparent forest of blooming cherry trees, an elderly man with his kanun, a mute girl who sings will try to help Drosos find his sister and the truth.
And perhaps more than anyone, Ariel, the ethereal spirit from Shakespeare's The Tempest, will help; because when you live in a theater, life can ultimately take on many different faces.
A story about loss, pain, exile, but also about the comforting power of imagination, compassion, and humanity, inspired by the real event of the settlement of Asia Minor refugees in the Municipal Theater of Athens in 1922.

Very nice book....especially the hardcover edition is wonderful...the plot is perfect and timely due to the M disaster....I highly recommend it.
It's a decent book. I don't generally read a lot of books. The truth is that I got a bit bored with it, but it is nicely written and has a proper flow of time, etc.
It's subjective, it depends on personal opinion, some may not get bored with it while others might.
