I have it for almost a year and I am not very satisfied. The keys have a nice feel except for the space key which is simply awful. The cable is very thick but it doesn't bother me much, the build quality is not very good as for what you pay it is quite bad. One of the most significant problems is the RGB as I researched it and it has issues in many after a short period of time. The keyboard is not worth its money at all! At this price, I would prefer a Ducky One or a keyboard from Logitech's premium series.
I have it for over a year. Solid construction. Good feel. Something that impressed me is that no matter how bright the keys are, they don't bother you when watching a movie, for example.
I've never had a mech keyboard before, so I can't compare it to similar ones.
The only downside that took me a long time to get used to is how easily the buttons are pressed, and due to the conventional keyboard at my work, it took me a while to forget the habit of resting my hands on the keys.
For the amount of money it costs, it better last forever. Otherwise, it's not worth it.
Market at 159 euros, about a year ago.
Sturdy construction, good RGB lighting, I have paired it with a Steelseries Rival 600 mouse.
Coming from Corsair K70. It does not have a palm rest. It does not have a tool to remove the keys.
Within 6 months, the first damages to the keys started. They faded, specifically the W, A, D, Lshift keys. At first, I contacted Steelseries headquarters, sent them photos, and they asked me to cut the power cable into 2 parts and send it back. So, I would be without a keyboard for about a month. I spoke with Steelseries Greece and they sent me new keys. After 3 months, the same thing happened again. The new keys also faded. Should I stop playing FPS games anymore?
I don't think I will buy Steelseries products again. After the issues I had with the Rival 600 (I have made a review)
6 months later, the brightness on half of the keys stopped working.
2. 8 months later, it randomly stops working during Windows startup and you have to unplug and plug in the USB cable.
3. The keys faded within 6 months.
Stay away
After replacing the first faulty RGB switches and the second one having an issue, they are asking me to send it to Denmark with a shipping cost of 70€ so they can check it and send me another one, 30 days without a keyboard, and I have to pay 2/3 of the cost just for fun. Never again steelseries.
Amazing keyboard, but it had a problem with the RGB lighting. I have sent it back for replacement/repair. I don't know if it's just my luck with my recent PC, as there have been several setbacks (wrong motherboard, a 600 euro monitor that didn't turn on from the beginning, several delays with other components, and now the keyboard). Although for the money, you expect something of quality from the start..
Just like every Steelseries product I have purchased, this one is simply a guarantee.
Great build quality, easy to clean, immediate response, beautiful and worth the purchase at 100. I've had it for almost 3 months and the only thing it needed was a little adjustment at the beginning because it was a bit taller compared to the apex m800 I had before.
I don't need to mention the Steelseries software, which is for all their products, so you can easily adjust colors and settings, etc.
Anyone considering getting it at a reasonable price, do it with your eyes closed.
Update 29/12/20: Even as new after 2 years of constant use, the click feels like the first day without any wear. I don't know if someone wants something more.
Although I have it for just a few days, I am extremely satisfied, it was worth every penny at 100%. It was bought for 170 and it is simply unbelievable for me. It just takes a little time to get used to it and nothing else
The keyboard, in terms of construction quality, is amazing, however its keys are very sensitive, have a high profile, and I really don't find them comfortable at all. It's all a matter of getting used to it, but I've had it for over a year and I still can't get used to it. They have a Red Cherry MX feel, but they are quite high and are pressed very easily. Also, it doesn't have USB Passthrough, so you lose a USB port. Other than that, there are no issues. The keys come off very easily and it's easy to clean. For the money it asks for, personally, I would get something else.
Awesome build quality. The software of steelseries is quite good and constantly updated. I can't provide details as it is the first mechanical keyboard I use. The keys are similar to red mx cherry. It is very lightweight. They require minimal force to activate. The RGB is awesome. It would be useful to have a USB passthrough for them. Overall, for its price, it doesn't offer the same features as Corsair, but it is top quality
