The Edifier S880DB is a speaker system aimed at those seeking high-quality sound for their computer, TV, or other audio playback devices.

With a wider frequency response range of 55Hz-40kHz, it reproduces almost every detail.
The ¾" titanium diaphragm dome tweeters reproduce high frequencies up to 40kHz, delivering crisp and bright peaks. The 3.75" aluminum alloy diaphragm of the mid-bass drivers features fast transient response and low acoustic distortion, which reproduces rich midrange and powerful low frequencies.
The encoder supports stereo signals with a sampling rate of up to 192kHz. Its built-in miniDSP accurately performs dynamic range management and active crossover control. By using the optical input or the coaxial input, you can enjoy lossless music.
The high-performance audio amplifier supports stereo signals with a sampling rate of up to 192kHz. It amplifies 2-way treble signals and mid-bass signals and transmits them to the tweeter and mid-bass driver respectively. With the high PWM frequency of up to 768kHz, distortion and noise can be minimized.

The sound is what I expected for speakers without a subwoofer. The handling is very clumsy, and in general, it has quite a few sloppiness issues.
- When you turn it off and on, it always returns to the factory settings (volume, EQ).
- To change the Source, there are no different buttons, but only one to jump from one source to the next, resulting in needing 15 seconds to switch from PC source to BLUETOOTH source.
I personally love the sound, but it is quite annoying in its functions
Excellent speakers. The sound is crystal clear, you enjoy listening from any source. An advantage is that it has bass and treble adjustment at the back. The Bluetooth is exemplary, it connects instantly with any device. I have connected my phone, laptop, radio, and television. You simply turn off the rest and let it play what you want. It connects automatically. Excellent quality construction, I placed them on Edifier stands which I consider equally tasteful in design as the speakers. The remote is round and can be a bit confusing, but you can mark the position where the infrared is to align it with the speaker. It is a very good purchase due to its performance and ease of wirelessly connecting multiple audio sources. They are worth their money.

I don't have much to say! When I took them out of the box, I thought I made a mistake because of their small size. When I turned them on, I was simply amazed by their quality and intensity!
The speakers in this white color with wooden trim are very beautiful, and they look great in a modern office. As for the sound, they are amazing for their price. The bass is quite powerful without overpowering the other sounds, and overall I would say they have a fairly balanced sound. They have enough volume to fill a normal room and more. No matter what genre of music you listen to, they will not disappoint you, but if you happen to listen to electronic, trance, and the like, you will be shocked. I mainly use them for rock-metal and I think I would like a little more detail, but maybe I'm being too excessive. Even at high volume, they respond very well. Here I should mention that they also have high-resolution support, and in experiments I have done with lossless on Apple Music, I notice the difference. I have the speakers connected to a Mac mini M1.
The speakers are very good. As a product, they are excellent, very well constructed, heavy, small, and elegant speakers. You can tell that it is a good thing as soon as you hold it.
The sound is very satisfying for the size, both in performance and volume. The bass is also great in relation to the size. I have used it optically, and although I have occasionally used Bluetooth, I have not encountered any problems.
Because I fell in love with Edifier, I also bought the S3000PRO, a little greedily, as a gift for myself without necessarily needing them. Well, yes, they are great speakers, but they didn't give me the joy that the size and money invested in them should have.
PS: I also have the R1700BT, equally incredible for their price.
Overall, very good products that no one will regret choosing.

I really bought the S3000 to listen to them, to play them, and to enjoy them.
Well, coming from the R1280DB EDIFIER and the JPL BAR DEEP BASS soundbar, I am very satisfied with the performance both in the low and high frequencies. They are value for money speakers with high resolution audio that are worth it
Quality sound, not very high output volume, very low bass even with maximum adjustment
Okay, I will start by saying that I thought I had at least bass with my old Logitech 5.1, because of the subwoofer... I was wrong... I just had loud noise. Now I have bass!!! Clear, powerful bass!
I have had these speakers for one day.
As for the construction, initially, they are heavy (HEAVY!!!) and sturdy! They don't move from the desk even when I want to move them a little, they don't creak and they don't seem like they will ever start creaking! Excellent construction.
The remote control is also heavy (compared to others), sturdy and beautiful.
The packaging is very well done, the speakers with protective cloth, hard plastic on top and inside a bag. The cable that connects the two speakers is quite long and reinforced, not fake. Inside the box, it had all the cables you need, 3.5" jack to 2 RCA, RCA to RCA, USB A to B, and Optical! In general, all cables are long. Personally, I connected it to the PC with USB after downloading and installing the relevant drivers from the Edifier website.
In terms of sound, excellent, I set the sample rate from Windows to 192 Khz at 24 bit.
I have played classical (mainly piano), metal, rock, electronic, and they all sound great (mp3, flac, youtube).
The highs are nice and quite a few without whistling in your ear, the mids are full, and with the bass I lost my mind, I watched the speakers vibrate in the beat, and I smiled foolishly with my mouth open!
Anyone who is afraid they don't have enough bass, they do! And strong and clear!
I haven't played a game or movie yet, but I guess the sound will be equally impressive!
Behind the active speaker, there are knobs for treble, bass, and volume. The volume knob is also a button that turns off the speakers. The speakers also turn off from the remote control.
I also played music from my phone with Bluetooth, easy connection, the remote control has play/pause, previous and next, to handle the music without opening the phone.
The remote control has 4 modes, Monitor, Dynamic, Vocal, and Classic. These modes are nice, the Classic one I used with piano sounded sweeter, with dynamic I used other music, the sound was full, and the monitor is a nice addition if you connect them to a midi/audio interface!
One drawback, the remote control has to "look at" the active speaker to catch it. If it looks at the ceiling as you hold it, it doesn't catch. Personally, I don't care so much.
In addition to the above, the positives for me are their small size, not too big to be next to the PC monitor.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase. They seem like they will stay in my office for many years without aging...
EDIT: 6 years later, the speakers have proven to be worthy of my expectations! They work like the first day, perfectly, without any glitches with their electronics, without any creaking from the years they have been playing! The only negative, which is logical, because I have them constantly in USB mode, the USB light (which has been continuously on for 6 years now) has become slightly dimmer than the other lights, something I only see if I happen to change Mode by mistake, but this happens with all LEDs without exception.
If for some reason they break, I will buy the same ones again!
I don't feel any bass at all. The knobs on the back for the bass seem like they're not working.
