  I wanted a subwoofer to expand the low range of my main speakers (JM Lab Cobalt 816s) in my rather challenging listening space. I chose the KRK because of its compact dimensions, active crossover, and the ability to selectively disable it, and this choice proved to be absolutely justified. By setting the cutoff frequency at 80Hz so that my main speakers play anything above it and the subwoofer handles the lower frequencies, it not only extended the frequency range by about an octave, but also expanded the size of the stereo image in all dimensions with clarity and purity that I had not heard from my system before. Therefore, I can say that this subwoofer is the best value-for-money upgrade I have made to it.
