Technical Specifications
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
Modern design with readable and accurate indications of internal and external temperature. It also features a precision clock. Much better than other wireless weather stations. The length of the external temperature sensor cable, which is 1.5m, is good. It is worth the purchase price of 9.99 euros.
Updating my review to 2 stars for the following reason: It burns through batteries like crazy. It lasts me about 9 months with brand name batteries, not Chinese ones. It takes a CR2025 battery, which I find completely unacceptable for the consumption it has. I was ready to throw it away out of frustration, but I converted it to use 2xAA batteries with a battery holder attached to the back of the thermometer. In case you want to disassemble it for a similar reason, you need to detach the plastic membrane of the front panel from the front white frame and you will find screws underneath.
It has indications for indoor and outdoor temperature. For measuring outdoor temperature, it has a sensor with a 1.5m cable. It operates with a CR2025 battery, which is included in the device. It has a foldable stand for placement on a desk and a hole for hanging it on a wall with a nail. It has a time display. It shows the maximum and minimum temperature of the day. It has an indication showing whether the temperature is rising or falling.
It does not have a hygrometer, date display, alarm clock, or weather forecast.
The reasons why I deducted points are as follows:
- The screen does not have a good viewing angle. I have it on a shelf that is higher than the desk where I sit, about half a meter above eye level, and the indications fade away. During the day, I can read them, but in slightly darker conditions, it becomes unreadable. However, in order to be able to read them, I do not use the stand it comes with because it tilts backward. I have it vertically supported with double-sided tape.
- The two thermometers have a deviation of 0.8 degrees from each other. I did not intend to use it to measure outdoor temperature, so I have the cable with the sensor attached to the back of the device. The external one shows a lower temperature, and based on other thermometers I compared it with, it is closer to the actual temperature, which is slightly lower. Therefore, the internal thermometer shows at least one degree higher than the actual temperature. Fortunately, there is an option to switch, so if you want, the large display shows the measurement from the external sensor and the small display shows the temperature of the indoor. Otherwise, it would be useless and deserve a bottom rating.
- It would be good if the large display was slightly smaller, the time display slightly larger, and if it also showed the date.
- The plastic screen has scratches, I don't know how. It is a very soft material susceptible to scratching.
- When I press the buttons from the back, the liquid crystals of the screen create waves to the point where I think I will break it. Fortunately, you only set it once and then you don't have to deal with it again.
- The manual does not even mention the indication of rising or falling temperature, and I would like to know how it works (how much drop/rise and in what time interval the indications light up).
The HAMA TH50 that I bought along with this one has much better value for money, so there are better options for the same price.
It eats the batteries one after the other.
It is very good with accurate indications
