I RECOMMEND IT 100%

It is one of those rare products that have a quality that you cannot name. Melitta has made a flawless product, paying attention to every detail, from the flow stopping when you remove the carafe, to the switch closing a few minutes after the water is finished, to the incredible usability of the carafe. I didn't know Melitta, but this specific model came first in reviews of coffee makers, surpassing other expensive models.

There is only one reason not to buy this model: if you want to make coffee from beans.
In every other case, it is by far the best coffee maker.

You don't need the model with the programmed morning start, as it makes coffee so quickly that it becomes irrelevant.
You don't need to keep an eye on it, as the thermos keeps the coffee hot all day and you save money.

The only drawback is that there is no manual in Greek. But let's get serious, only nerds like me read them (yes, I read the manual of every product BEFORE buying it).

Unfortunately, I did not listen to the comments I should have and bought it. I have been drinking only filter coffee for decades and the most important thing for me in a coffee maker is the quality of the coffee it makes. Unfortunately, this one is the worst I have ever had. As other buyers have written, its coffee is tasteless and characterless. To somewhat salvage the situation, I wet the filter well before putting in the coffee, remove the carafe until about three small cups of water pass through, and let it sit for a minute or two so that the water stays with the coffee for a longer time and the extraction is enhanced. The result remains mediocre, but there is a slight improvement. Otherwise, the coffee maker is beautiful and of good quality (for its price). The carafe-thermos is very good, but the base it sits on does not heat up.

  We had several coffee makers and they all had the same outcome. At some point, the carafe would break and then we would start searching to find a compatible carafe. Add to that the cost of 15 euros to purchase it. It's not worth not having a coffee maker with such a carafe so that you can be at ease. Also, this specific carafe is thermal so you don't have the issue of the coffee getting cold. It remains hot for 3 hours. It has one issue regarding the fact that you can't remove the carafe while the coffee is boiling. A very minor flaw.

  By far the best coffee maker we have purchased in the last 25 years. (We have regularly used 4 coffee makers, almost daily, at home and in the office).   The power of 1000 W helps in quickly brewing the coffee, and the thermal carafe keeps it hot for a long time.
  The parts of the coffee maker are detachable and easy to clean. Additionally, the thermal carafe is not at risk of breaking during cleaning, resulting in the entire coffee maker becoming useless.

  The coffee maker is of good quality construction but nothing extraordinary. It has stainless steel parts but the majority of the construction material is plastic, which is of decent quality. The carafe is insulated but it doesn't keep the coffee hot for a long period of time, as I read in other reviews. The coffee is drinkable up to an hour and a half after brewing. Beyond that, it is undrinkable. However, the most important thing is that it DOES NOT MAKE GOOD COFFEE. The coffee comes out like grass. I have tried everything from Gold from Lidl to freshly ground coffee from CoffeeIsland and unfortunately, the taste is the same. NO FLAVOR, NO AROMA. I bought this particular machine because my previous one (Cecotec with a thermos) made equally terrible coffee, but I wanted the thermos and the Cecotec kept the temperature for a longer time. I thought that the aroma of the coffee with the Melitta would be better, but I was wrong. The simple Gruppe coffee maker that I have made much better coffee in terms of flavor, even though it doesn't have a thermos. Overall, I would not recommend it to anyone and I am puzzled by the positive reviews.

  Sometimes the water lid does not stand upright, you have to hold it to pour the water.
  Also, the narrow opening of the water container sometimes leads to spilling some water outside the container.

  The thermal insulation of the jug was deemed sufficient under normal environmental temperature conditions.
  However, the jug has 2 flaws.
  1) When tilted while serving coffee, it leaks at the point where the plastic connects with the stainless steel part.
  2) The last half cup of coffee always gets trapped in the jug due to the internal design.
  To get all the coffee out, you have to detach the lid and use it.
  Also, no matter how many times you wash it, even if you leave it in diluted vinegar for hours to remove the smell, a lingering odor always remains. A major drawback compared to glass jugs in other coffee makers.

  Overall, I consider it overpriced and overpriced. Its price does not justify the ergonomic flaws, as it is just a simple coffee maker that does not have a heating base or a screen with programming settings, etc.

  Unfortunately, I have to inform you that the quality of this particular product did not meet my expectations at all. I have been drinking filter coffee for over 40 years and have tried it with over 10 different brewing machines. I have purchased KRUPS, PHILIPS, GRUPPE, BOSCH, and even the AVEC from JUMBO at different times. This specific MELITTA is unfortunately the worst choice I have made.
