Very good construction, fast installation, good prints, fast scans. On the negative side, it makes a bit of noise, the prints are not very fast, and it used to leave lines on dark-colored prints, but I changed the paper and it doesn't do it anymore.

Pay great attention to the email you send to have a subject in the email otherwise it won't take it. Whether with a computer or a mobile phone, with the installed HP application, it hardly ever works. The installation was easy and the wifi feature was one of the reasons I chose this machine. The scanner that I use is also very practical. It has shown a few error messages, but nothing serious, and sometimes it shows offline when it's not.
The initial ink cartridges, like in all printers, seem to run out quickly. Mine ran out in 4 months. The 903 XL ink cartridges are expensive and I couldn't find them in many stores. The cost of the printer is close to the cost of the official ink cartridges. I chose the following solution: I signed up for the HP Instant Ink service. For €5 per month, I chose the plan for 100 pages per month, which covers my needs. The machine automatically detects when the ink is running out and the company sends me ink cartridges from abroad. They arrived at my house in 2 days. If you exceed the monthly limit, there is an additional charge of €1 for every 10 extra pages. The surplus pages can be carried over for up to 3 times to the next month. I believe it is cost-effective for my usage. During the initial installation of the printer, I went to the hp website to download the drivers and it warned me about an important firmware upgrade that needed to be done. I did it and the printer became useless. After a month of hassle, the printer was replaced. With the new one, I did not install the firmware, of course. However, from time to time, fatal error messages appear on the printer's screen (closing and reopening) and the turn off function does not work after 2 hours. The printer stays on standby unless I manually turn it off.
Of course, the worst part is not the operating problems, but the prices of the consumables, as a complete set costs more than the printer itself!

You can refill the ink cartridges (there are various methods on YouTube) with HP's 70ml GT52 inks that are available in the market for many times and countless photos and copies as if you have an ink tank (just be careful, only genuine HP GT52 inks work correctly for photos because there are other inks that you can buy in bulk but they only work for copies, they create lines and other issues and the results are terrible). User-friendly layout on the operating system with the touch screenAfter 9 months of use, I changed my rating and I explain below why:
1) The program for printing/scanning on Windows can only be obtained through the Microsoft Store, which often cannot install applications in general. It should have been a file that we could download from the HP website.
2) The ink is expensive. Also, even though I never print in color, it now tells me that I have no color ink left. They show the same level as the black ink, which I use constantly.
3) The most annoying negative aspect is that the default scanning size is set to "Letter". For every page I scan using the glass, I have to select size "A4". It does not retain the "A4" selection for the next pages I scan.
4) On the device's screen, there is an option for scanning to the computer. If I press scan this way, only scanning with the glass works and not with the paper feeder. Also, it does not open HP Smart, but the simple Windows program, which asks you to move from the scanner to the computer to accept that you want to scan with the simple program.
5) When I scan with HP Smart, after scanning 1 page, there is no button to press for "start the next page" after I change the page on the glass. I have to leave the scanner, change the paper, go to the computer, press next on the computer, and then go back to the scanner to change the page on the glass when finished. I would like to focus on its negatives:
1) HP frequently releases updates that disable the use of compatible third-party ink cartridges, in order to force us to buy only their own cartridges. To avoid this, you can disable automatic updates. However, if you do this, you lose all the printer's online functions (it's called ePrint web services). This means that you cannot print anything unless you are on the same Wi-Fi network as the printer, printing through email to the printer does not work, etc.
2) In some cases, it cannot be used with Wi-Fi mesh solutions or Access Points with the same SSID. In my case, the printer is located approximately in the middle of the 2 Wi-Fi mesh nodes I have in my apartment (about 1/3 of the distance from the first node and 2/3 from the second node). Every now and then, it disconnects from one and connects to the other. As a result, when you try to print, it cuts off in the middle of printing, and once it connects to the other node, it prints everything from the beginning, etc. It's really annoying. I have tried setting a static IP, separating the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies, changing broadcast channels, adjusting the mesh distance threshold, and I have spoken with HP support, but no one knows how to fix it. And it is purely a printer issue, as all the other devices in the same location work flawlessly without any disconnections. The only solution I have found is to set up a separate access point with a different name near the printer and connect the printer to that.
(All my previous printers had Ethernet, so I don't know if the problem is specific to this model or if HP printers in general have this behavior.)

I received a faulty printer which I sent back for DOA and replacement. I will come back when the next one arrives.
After the replacement, everything is perfect. The ink cartridges are designed to be easily refilled with bulk ink, especially the black one, giving prints of the same or even better quality. The prints are much more economical now. Be careful not to use low-quality bulk ink as it may clog the printhead.

The whole process took 10-15 minutes, including the apps I downloaded from the playstore. You plug it into the power. You select the country and language you desire. Then it finds the wifi network you want to connect to without any difficulty. You download the HP Smart app that makes everything very easy and also download the Add Printing Service app that the HP app asks for, and that's it, the printer is ready. The ink cartridges are easily installed, it self-aligns and everything is fine. I read somewhere that the printer doesn't activate unless you do it yourself. Wrong. I set it to go into standby mode after 5 minutes and turn off after 1 hour. Through the HP app, you can activate it whenever you want, without touching the printer's On-Off button. As for the print quality, I am satisfied. As for how long the ink cartridges last, I will come back with a new review.

Did you find this review helpful?I bought it only because of the offer at €89 and because I liked the aesthetics more than the black and white series of AiO 7+ 8+ 9+. I would easily go for a Brother inkjet color printer, but the price difference of €100+ and the 30-day delays due to the situation with the pandemic and my immediate needs pushed me to stick with HP, and I will pay for it in ink cartridges... One positive thing is that the black 903XL promises 1500 pages. It is recommended for home and light professional use. We shall see.
If you want something cheaper in terms of ink and if you print more than 1500 pages per month, go for more expensive laser/ink tank models, where you will save €20 per month and in a year you will recover the cost.
It is truly beautiful and for the features it has (WiFi Direct, USB, Fax, Scanner, ADF, Mobile Print, email Print), it easily justifies its value for money.
***CAUTION*** Do not update from the touch screen, it will take you to the latest firmware MJM2CN2020BR-->MJM2CN2049AR, where you will have compatibility issues with compatible ink cartridges. I don't know if refills work.
