This particular watch was released in 2016 and is the successor to the W-735H. In this case, the saying "the good became better" fits perfectly.
In the new model, the unnecessary 3 circles were removed from the dial, which freed up space and led to the placement of a new larger screen with bigger digits. The main and only differences between this and the older model are as follows: New larger screen, stronger vibration, and new lighting. All other features (watch dimensions and other functions) remain the same.
The screen is very clear, and the digits are easily visible from every viewing angle, even in very low light conditions. The new lighting essentially creates a kind of effect and makes the digits look like in a negative display, very nice, and there are no issues with it. The fact that there is a separate and exclusive button for the lighting has the following positive aspects: A) you can light up the screen in any function of the watch (stopwatch, countdown, etc.) and be able to see what you are doing. B) it frees up functions for one of the side buttons, making adjustments even easier and faster.
It is comfortable; at one point during the day, I forgot I was wearing it and was looking at my phone to check the time :-)
One observation, the photos do not do this watch justice. In person, it is larger than the photos make it seem and looks more high-quality.
Basically, I wanted the G-Shock GD-350-1ER, but it was nowhere to be found, and no one knew if and when it would come back to the Greek market. There is the GD-350BR-1ER, but I don't like the glossy finish and the negative display it has at all.
At the price around €50, I also looked at some solar models, which had some additional functions but lacked vibration. However, the main reason I rejected them was their terrible lighting, which belongs to the 80s and early 90s. So, I ended up with this one, and I don't regret it. In other countries, it is sold at the same price as the previous model (W-735H) for €39 to €40. At this super price, this watch is a no-brainer. Even at about +€10 markup from the exclusive representative in Greece, it is definitely worth it.
