I have it for sure for 4 years and it still works perfectly. It makes good coffee, if you follow the instructions in the beginning, you will never smell plastic, it releases the aroma of aromatic coffees perfectly.
Regarding the negatives mentioned in the other comments, I agree that the biggest issue is that it is difficult to fill with water and the water level indicator is difficult to read (or not at all when it gets foggy), however personally after so long obviously I know how much water I need and with a large pitcher for example, the water goes in easily and without spilling everywhere. (Note: for left-handed people the situation is not saved, it definitely does not help)
Everything else is details, for example it may drip a little on the stove, if you remove the jug as soon as it finishes, but personally I first remove the filter and then the jug from its position, so there is nothing left to drip. In the white color obviously it does not clean perfectly, but it's my own fault for not getting the black one. (Tip: when you have put your coffee and emptied the filter, you can with the jug in its place, before washing it, pour some hot water on top and any coffee beans or anything else left, goes away immediately and does not need constant scrubbing - almost never).

*The jug does indeed cost around 25€ on its own and it's not cheap, but personally for so many years it has not broken on me even once.

I had it for years, it was a gift from my friend. As long as I used it, it was worth it. It lasted intact with regular cleaning for 3 to 4 years, with almost full functionality and quality. Its carafe is very good and overall the construction is durable. In the plastic that regulates the flow of coffee from the filter to the carafe, the spring had lost its hardness, so drops of coffee would drip whenever I removed the carafe. Also, in the plastic cover of the carafe, there is an extremely thin and long spout where the coffee is delivered to the bottom, which, when internally stained from heavy use, simply could not be cleaned without scrubbing, but nothing could fit there to scrub it. This definitely affected the taste of the coffee. A few days ago, I accidentally touched a piece of plastic on the heating plate (where the glass carafe rests) and it melted! Then I realized that a small piece of the plate's coating had come off and possibly a layer had come off in general.

As soon as I replaced it with a Russell Hobbs Legacy, which I think makes better coffee, it will be more durable and more functional than this one, but that will be seen in the long run.

For the 30-something euros it cost back then, I consider that it was worth the money given that it is almost entirely (high-quality) plastic and worked perfectly for 3 consecutive years.

This particular coffee maker was purchased in September 2020 for 25 euros, as a cheap and branded solution, and on 11/8/23, after it stopped working, I see it at 39 euros. I repaired it myself by opening it and "unsticking" the plastic ball of the one-way "valve," may God help it. It has been working until today, 12/3/24, and as long as it lasts.

My opinion on the reliability of Phillips has been and remains negative for many years, since they started manufacturing in China and wherever else they find, and selling them in places similar to Greece, and unfortunately this applies now to all devices.

All coffee makers are maintained at least once a year by me, pouring vinegar with water 1/1 into the water tank, to make it work and to remove the deposits that accumulate on the heating element; afterwards, I pour clean water until the smell of vinegar is gone. As a coffee maker, as long as it works, it brews coffee quickly, it is very hot, but for aromas, you should ask some lady. It does not smell like plastic as has been written, and if it does, turn it back immediately. To add water without leaks, use the jug; for a large cup, if you fill it up to 6, you are good. The glass jug is normal in thickness and not too thin to break easily.

As for the lid that has no holes, it is designed so that you do not fill the cabinets that are usually above the device with steam; if you open the lid after brewing coffee, you will see that the water slips back into the container, and thus it dries if you do not wipe it. The rubber sealing ring for drips on the heating plate is very effective, and no drop falls, nor does it come off easily during washing. Generally, I have not seen any difference in coffee brewing compared to coffee makers of 50 and 100 euros that I have used over time, and I have literally thrown my money away.
