For many years, the Italian company Rupes held a monopoly on random orbital sanders with a 5 mm throw and high prices. Makita came to change that with a beautiful replica.

Compared to the Rupes SSPF (because it cannot be compared to any other), it is better. It's tanks. Tremendous quality and no cheap plastic. It does the job because of its 5-millimeter orbit. It literally sands on its own. For flat and large surfaces, it's something else. Maybe there should also be a second sander in the toolbox with a 2-millimeter orbit for a better finish.
