Loneliness, you see, loneliness... brings strange ideas... Kappa Publishing presents three one-act plays by the great playwright Loula Anagnostaki in a new edition titled The City Trilogy. The cover is adorned with a work by Kostas Gkourtzi, who also contributes three drawings to the edition, one for each play. The one-act play "The Overnight Stay" was first performed, along with the one-act plays "The City" and "The Parade," under the general title "The City," by the Art Theatre in May 1965, directed by Karolos Koun with sets and costumes by Maria Roussou. The cast included: Sofia Michopoulou (Old Woman), Katerina Karagianni (Sofia), Nikos Charalambous (Mimis). It was also broadcast by Rai3 Radio in October 1966. The one-act play "The City" was first performed by the Art Theatre in May 1965, directed by Karolos Koun with sets and costumes by Maria Roussou. The cast included: Nektarios Vouteris (Kimon), Maya Lyberopoulou (Elisavet), and Giorgos Lazanis (Photographer). It was also presented by Cypriot television in January 1966, directed by Evi Gavriilidi. Additionally, in April 1967, it was performed at the Tearto dei Verdi in Padua, translated by Filippo Maria Pontani and directed by N. Tsiggakou, while in July 1969, it was broadcast by the BBC, translated by George Angell and directed by Martin Esslin. The one-act play "The Parade" was first performed by the Art Theatre in May 1965, directed by Karolos Koun with sets and costumes by Maria Roussou. The cast included: Ekali Sokou (Zoi) and Mimis Kougioumtzis (Aris). It was also staged in Paris, at the Maison des Lettres, in May 1968, translated by Nikiforos Papandreou & J.Y.C. Fossé and directed by Antoine Vitez, with actors Colin Harris and Brigitte Jacques.
