Two spymasters know the secret identities of 25 agents. The other players know the agents only by their Code Names. The teams compete to see who can contact all of their agents first. The Spymasters give one-word clues that can be linked to multiple words on the table. Their teammates try to guess the correct words while avoiding those that belong to the opposing team. And everyone tries to avoid the assassin.
Codenames: win or lose, it's fun to interpret the clues!

Nice to very nice game, nice concept and nice design, it is just very focused on vocabulary and concepts, as well as each round ends somewhat quickly. Other than that, interesting and nice for a group.
It's a bit difficult to explain to a new player, but that's because it's a very original game; I like it a lot and it has filled our nights!
My favorite board game. Even though you can use the same word cards over and over again, the board and their combination change, and it's like you're playing a different game each time. It requires thought to avoid making mistakes. It's definitely worth trying.
Team game, good for a group. It requires thought and effort to connect unrelated words to each other, so each player adds a different touch to the game and certainly affects the outcome of their team. At some point, the words have been played many times, so it becomes somewhat repetitive, thus an expansion is needed. Overall, however, it is enjoyable, has a good duration, is team-oriented, engages the mind to think, and is entertaining. Adhering to certain rules in a strict framework is important to avoid misunderstandings!
We play it with two different groups. With one group, we have a pleasant time and laugh, but it's nothing special. With the other group, however, we die laughing. I don't know, maybe it has to do with the fact that one team usually tries to cheat, so besides focusing on the game itself, we also watch each other. Last August, we spent every day playing Codenames for at least 2-3 hours and we never got bored! Reading other reviews, I conclude that some board games need to be played with specific groups to shine. And judging by our group, the attempt to cheat adds another level of suspense to the game!
Very easy, simple rules understandable and generally fun with silly fights, because no one can communicate with anyone!
Perfect. Fun for a group. The more people, the better. And if they know each other, it's even more interesting. One of the best games I've purchased.
One of the best party board games. It is suitable for people who enjoy silent and relaxed board games that require thinking and cleverness. The setup is very easy and a game lasts 10-20 minutes. If the players know each other well, the game takes on another dimension. I would not recommend it to someone who prefers more "lively" games with lots of noise and chatter (e.g. jungle speed, taboo, etc.), it is more suitable for the type of player who would prefer Dixit. It requires at least 4 players, but in my opinion, it is much much MUCH better with 6+. For 2 players, I only recommend Codenames Duet, the cooperative variation of Codenames. The construction quality is satisfactory. The word cards are somewhat thin, however, the players do not handle them often (if at all, the cards are only moved during the setup of a game), so their quality is as good as needed. It is definitely worth its money.
Simply wonderful! Simple enough so that you don't have to explain the rules for hours to new players and convenient size to take it with you to gatherings.
It keeps the interest for several rounds without lagging and also offers team play for the group, leaving many winners (thus satisfied) at the end of the game.
For me, the best word game of all time.
1. It can be played by up to 8 people, making it a game for large groups.
2. Very easy in terms of rules.
3. Compared to other board games, I can confidently say that it is not worth 16 euros, it is worth more.
4. Because it is very entertaining, very competitive, and you can play it countless times!!
Buy it.
An easy game that can be played even with 2 people. Fun because it makes players think more unconventionally, I recommend it!
A tabletop game that is partially interesting but over time becomes "monotonous" as it doesn't offer anything different to its players but instead tends to repeat itself. Especially if the group is not "enthusiastic" about the phase of the tabletop game, they are likely to get bored relatively quickly (or not try to make the tabletop game "fun")
One of the best party games I have played. Fun, fast-paced, and if you know your group well, it will be very hilarious. Start with this one and then move on to Duet. One level up. Equally good value for money
Smart and simple thinking game. It requires thinking and time, especially at the beginning for the spy. Depending on the age and size of the group, it can be funny and interesting or simpler (with young children). 25 word cards and the spy tries to help his teammates find their own words as quickly as possible, with successful associations.
Excellent game for a group, especially if you know each other well and know how your teammates think! Easy rules, maybe it needs 1-2 trial rounds, otherwise there are explanatory videos on YouTube. It has enough cards so that combinations don't easily repeat and you don't get bored.
Nice and fun, the concept is a bit strange at first but after a few minutes, you're good.
The best party game ever! It is fun with many people, requires thinking and imagination, and has a lot of cooperation and conversation. If the group is up for it, one team can troll the other while they play very comfortably. The rules are relatively simple but the difficulty level of the game depends on the players - some may complete the game in 3 rounds and others may want 8-9. You definitely won't get bored.
Perfect party game. You search for word combinations to describe them to your team, and the association that each person makes to connect various words with one word in quotes, in order to describe them all together to their team, provides plenty of laughter!
Analysis Paralysis!!! You wait for hours for the active player to find the clue to give to the team. There is no suspense, there is no interest. I played it once (with different "leaders") and I got bored out of my mind. I gave it away the same night.
There are MUCH better party games where all players are engaged throughout the game, there are no delays, and you truly have fun!!
I highly recommend it, ideal for large groups, young and old, can be played without any special knowledge, and it is quite affordable! Value for money
One of the best games for gatherings. The rounds last 10-20 minutes. The concept of the game may seem very simplistic, but as you play, you realize how clever it is. Its mechanism also makes each round different, so it remains interesting even after dozens of rounds. The only possible drawback is the waiting time as the initial players try to combine as many cards as possible with the element they will give.
It is a very nice and extremely entertaining game!!! It expands thinking! And it requires a lot of imagination to connect the words together!!! :-) I highly recommend it without reservation!!
