  For small tasks it is very good, the key is the batteries that will be put inside, even better than alkaline are the lithium AA, they give a steady 6 volts, if you prefer rechargeable Li-ion they are quite expensive and require another charger, otherwise the Panasonic eneloop (Ni-MH) are fine, it will just work with 4.8 volts
