The purpose is to increase airflow when there is an obstruction at the outer point of the diaphragm.
To understand if it will help you, pull the skin of your nostrils outward (as if you are opening them). If you breathe better and more freely, then the product will help.
Compared to:
Strips: it is more economical, however, you are putting something inside your nose - so it is expected to cause more discomfort.
pharmaQ nozovent: It opens the nose better, however, unlike nozovent, it opens the nostrils causing resistance to the nasal diaphragm (nasal septum - nostrils).
It is quite discreet and does not appear prominently or unattractive. However, if you sleep on your stomach or make facial expressions such as smiling, etc., then you cannot wear it because it exerts intense pressure on the diaphragm and causes pain - something that can last the whole day.
Update one month later: The plastic remains intact. They no longer bother during sleep, possibly they have softened from use. (They come in a pack of 2)
Update one year later: The original box I bought last year had 2 components inside. I am still on the second one. Incredibly durable, and definitely after many options as I described above, I will settle for these. I change the initial rating to 5* from 4*.

Do not buy it for snoring, it will not help you, after all, snoring starts from the throat, not from the nose. You need to get used to it a little at first. Give it some time. It may cause some irritation or pain after a few days of use, but it will pass and your nose will accept it without any problem. You may need to take some breaks some nights until this happens. Try wearing it (depending on your nose of course) somewhat vertically upwards to support the nostrils. Not horizontally deep inside the nose, some may find it too big. Try different nose support positions. You will not find sizes beyond medium. I have not found it and have been using it for some years now. At some point, maybe after 4-5 months of use, it will lose some of its shape and that's why it will unintentionally come out more often during sleep. That's when you replace it. Overall, very satisfied with the product. I highly recommend it. I rated effectiveness slightly lower only because it claims to reduce snoring. As I mentioned above, this is not true.

For me, the medium size fit perfectly and it was effective because the problem in my nose does not involve a blocked septum but rather the soft tissues that block the airflow during intense inhalation. This gadget keeps the nostrils open and no matter how forcefully I inhale, they do not close. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because sometimes it comes off during sleep.

The negatives are that sometimes it comes off during sleep and you have to search for it in the morning.
