The Sound Blaster G1 is a USB DAC and Amp that provides an instant audio upgrade from the motherboard's sound. It works with both PC and Mac and features a powerful amplifier for a wide range of headphones, from basic mobile phone earbuds to gaming and studio-quality headphones. The downloadable Sound Blaster Control Panel software offers immense audio realism and exciting sound effects and comes with optimized profiles for selected headphone brands.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
I bought it because my Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones are 80 ohms and the built-in sound card didn't support them well. With the application of the sound card, the sound improved but it wasn't as satisfactory as I expected. The software has many capabilities, but every time I turn on the computer, I have to reconfigure it to the high gain option (64-300 ohms) for it to sound good. It's good for its price, but there are definitely better options.
I don't know what the problem is or if I'm doing something wrong.
When I connect it, it doesn't have as much volume as it should have.
To make it sound louder, I have to make a bunch of changes in the settings, and even then it's not enough and it's frustrating.
The sound quality, especially in games like Apex, CS:GO, Valorant, and others, is not good.
When shooting, the sound from the entire game drops and takes a while to fix.
My headphones are Razer Kraken Pro V2 with a plug
Initially, I bought it because on the HP Omen 17 laptop, the sound had some issues with a ticking noise, and I thought it would fix the problem. It did improve the problem somewhat.
Apart from that, the product is worth it for weak, mediocre, and good laptops (I cannot give an opinion on desktops). Through the settings and with a Blackshark V2 X headset, I created a nice surround sound, which the otherwise good Intel smart sound in combination with Bang & Olufsen offered by the Omen series did not deliver. For around 20 euros, it was an upgrade for me (I also don't know its performance with 2.1 speakers, but it has about 10 options to choose your system from 2.1 to 7.1).
The program is very useful, with many settings. I don't know if the pre-made profiles have any meaningful existence. Create your own. The only thing I couldn't find is a reset, so be careful with the settings you make. Plus, it has a save feature.
The best way to connect mobile headphones to the computer and have the microphone working as well. I have tried Samsung AKG and iPhone 3.5mm headphones, and they sound exactly like on the mobile, maybe a bit louder. Before buying it, record your voice on your mobile and you will see how you will sound. It requires a little power, meaning you can use it on a hub without external power. Its software has an equalizer, noise reduction, and voice changer. It doesn't require a driver on any OS that I have tried. I recently lost it and bought it again.
I have tried the cheap cable that splits the mobile headphones into green and pink plugs (headphones and microphone) and usually the microphone is not loud enough, so I highly recommend this adapter.
Clear sound. Many options and settings.
BUT... I can't do something right. And I don't know how to increase the volume.
On the PS4 I tried it. It plays very low... I tried it with headphones on the console and on the PC.
On the PC, you can play with many options and settings. And I can say that the volume it produces is satisfactory.
I believe it is worth it as a device. But not for the PS4...
I should also mention that I have it for headphone use.
It offers very good sound, and more settings than the Play! 3, as it is aimed at gamers. The harmonics are low, but the Play! 3 has even lower ones. On the other hand, there is absolutely no distortion in its signal even at full volume. A great advantage is that it supports speakers up to 300 Ohms.
G1 or Play! 3?
If you are a gamer, the logical choice is the G1, while if you want the sound card more for listening to music, then go for the Play! 3, which also has a simpler control program. With such low prices, however, you can buy both and have one for your laptop and one permanently connected to your desktop PC. With such little money, the difference in sound is fantastic, and kudos to Creative for these specific products.

Very good for its price. It gave life and sound to an old computer. However, in order to fully utilize it, it is absolutely necessary to install the Creative software (from their website) and make the necessary settings from there (preferably manually) in order to avoid the low volume and lack of bass that have been mentioned in previous comments.
I also bought it after reading the good reviews, but no matter what I did, I couldn't make use of it as advertised. I installed the drivers and software, but the volume didn't increase as much as I would have liked. It's just slightly louder than the motherboard, I don't know if I did something wrong, but it's a plug and play product and shouldn't require anything special to work. The bass is also weak, just like in the headphones I tried, I didn't see any difference. It's a shame because it seemed like a good product for its price, but for someone who doesn't have a sound card or has a faulty one, I believe it will satisfy them
Creative guarantee!!!! Perfect sound and super easy connection!! No need for USB, found it instantly! Buy it!!
It has much better performance and intensity compared to the motherboard's card, with many customization options through its application to listen to your music or play your games with clean and high-quality sound. For its price, it is the best option available. Get it with closed eyes if you are looking for something simple that will significantly improve your sound and you don't have crazy demands.
