The Gardena Classic T 1030 D Water Timer is connected to the valve and controls the automatic watering of the garden, for example, sprinklers or a drip irrigation system.
Programming the watering times is easy with a large rotary knob. It allows you to choose up to three watering intervals daily and set the duration of each interval from 1 to 120 minutes.
For convenient programming, the control unit is detachable. You can also program the desired days of the week. If you want the watering to start immediately, you can activate it manually.
The GARDENA T 1030 Water Timer requires a 9V alkaline battery for operation. With the low battery indicator, you will know when to replace the battery in a timely manner. This ensures the reliable operation of the water timer.

I have two of these in my garden for about ten years because there are many watering stations and they work from spring to autumn. Everything works perfectly and the batteries last about two years, this year I will change them preventively as they enter the third year. In one of the two, since last year but especially this year, the water does not reach the last stations. Fortunately, I read a friend's comment here who mentioned changing a membrane, the opening is very easy, three screws to start and four more after, and the membrane costs 4 euros. Today the replacement arrived, I installed it and of course the water reaches everywhere and it is like new, thank you very much to the friend who wrote about it. It also takes a few days for someone to understand what opening to make on the nozzles and different watering times in the summer and now, so if something goes wrong before buying a new one, first investigate what is happening.
I use this specific programmer in a plot of land for watering trees (lemons, etc.), on a Cycladic island, day by day, for about 10 years and during the period May - October. Every year I change the battery with a new one and it works flawlessly, without interruptions, leaks, etc. As other users have noticed, the drawbacks I note are the inability to start programming at any time (the time should be exactly 9am, 10am, 11am, etc.), and its shutdown (fortunately for me after 9 years !!!!!), due to wear and puncture of the internal rubber membrane, which, however, is still available in the market and can be replaced cheaply and relatively easily. If needed and available, I will buy it again without any hesitation !!!!
Quite good, for its price. It is the second one I buy after 5 years. I will buy the same again if needed.
I bought 3 a year ago.
Within the year, 2 out of the 3 broke.
The store was excellent as always, they repaired them and sent them back to me.
Within 1 month of their return, 1 out of the 2 is not working again.
I think that's enough...
First summer it worked fine.
Next summer it started leaking water from the body when the faucet was opened due to a large crack in the inner hard plastic of the valve.
Long Story
The warranty does not cover it because it states in the instructions that it should be removed and reinstalled in the winter. Because I am also responsible for not reading that specific point in the instructions, I give it 2 stars and the construction quality is mediocre.
My negative evaluation is because I believe the body should withstand the entire year as the installation of an automatic watering system is permanent regardless of whether it is used in the winter.
(I had the same issue with a previous model from Gardena where it lasted for 2 summers, so I did not seek warranty as the 2 years of purchase had passed.)
I have three of the previous model, almost identical to this one for 15 years.
It is very reliable.
I only change the batteries every year.
And it works perfectly fine!
The mechanism has been working for 5 years now without any problems whatsoever.
Its programming is relatively simple, always compared to others. And it has the advantage of being able to change the watering duration with a click, without needing reprogramming.
I give it three stars because there is one unacceptable detail.
It only accepts programming in whole hours.
This may not sound too bad, but when you need to check the nozzles, you have to wait a whole hour because you can't program a function, for example, 5 or 10 minutes later. It's a major nerve-wracking inconvenience.
Avoid buying it.
I bought it last year, it worked for 10 days without any problem.
I had it in storage all the following period.
This year it doesn't work.
It is so good that you can't imagine, I have bought 3 in 3 years due to incompatibility with others at the point it enters ...
It is good and reliable, the battery lasts almost a year. The only downside is that they constantly increase its price!!!! Now it costs 34 €!!!! I have six.... The first one was bought about three years ago
I have bought 4 of them and I have had them for years. They work perfectly without any maintenance. Only batteries, which also last for more than six months with daily watering. It notifies you audibly many days in advance before it stops watering, indicating when they need to be replaced. The only thing that requires attention is to remove them in freezing conditions. Two of mine broke from ice and I replaced them again with the same ones.
I bought it last year, it worked all summer without any problem, it is less user-friendly than some others of the same brand because it doesn't have a screen. God forgive me, not even a year. Let's see now with the warranty.
Every year I buy a different one - Gardena is gone and happy china :-(
The programming of it is a puzzle!
If you like puzzles, buy it.
The only negative thing is getting used to the blue color of the hours in programming.
The programming is a bit frustrating, but otherwise it's okay.

The programming could be much simpler!
