The first purchase was made 3 years ago and now the second one will be made because unfortunately one of the supports broke. However, it has many positives, so here we go:
+ The money I spent on this specific tent was well worth it, as now the beach lounger seems like a distant dream. You can relax wherever you want and not worry about anything.
+ Opening and setting it up is very easy. Once you do it 2-3 times, you learn and everything is fine. It has 3 bags on the right, left, and back where you can fill them with sand/rocks to make it stable, plus it has extra pegs inside to secure it in place.
+ In case of wind, it has 3 "windows" that you can open, resulting in internal airflow and preventing it from being lifted.
+ It has internal pockets for your phone, book, etc., and pockets where you can hide your phone from the front, which is a great feature to keep your belongings.
+ The extra fabric that unfolds in the front can be attached to the top of the tent, allowing you to change, sleep, or get closer to your partner.
+ Closing it is also easy, but if it's windy, you may need some help in packing it up.
+++ IMPORTANT FOR THE SUPPORT: After many uses, especially in windy conditions, I found that it's helpful to put some weight on the two ends of the tent entrance because despite the airflow, it can still lift slightly.
As for negatives, I have nothing to say except that the "floor" fabric is thin, so on a beach with pebbles, a mat on top solves the problem, and also be careful with cigarettes because it can catch fire! Well, happy diving!
Unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy this particular shade very much... Just on the third use of the tent and with a wind of 3 Beaufort (!), the elastic plastic of the frame broke like a toothpick, making the tent completely unsuitable for use. Truly the worst purchase I have made in many years. The disappointment is enormous as we "bet" on this shade for our summer vacation and it's not a small amount close to €120 for such a purchase... In the end, we found ourselves in mid-August completely exposed and with support from TerraNation and the store where it was purchased that doesn't even respond. Unacceptable!
Top notch quality from the veterans of shading! Highly recommended, opening-closing is a piece of cake, easy to carry around, I’ve never used an umbrella again after getting the Terra Nation beach shelter!
I used a product for 7 years that cost thirty euros and had no significant problems. I chose to go with TERRA purely for its easy opening and because I trusted the TERRA brand. However, after one year of use, the fabric tore from the air!!!! (NOT FROM STRONG WIND)
3rd year this year and absolutely satisfied owner of this specific tent. Obviously, we should calculate and say 1-2 things from the beginning. Opening/closing is EXTREMELY EASY as long as when you open it, you extend all the "legs". In case you do something wrong, close it and start again. Same goes for closing. Obviously, it is much easier to set up with 2 people, but personally, alone with my dog on the beach and strong wind, if you do everything methodically, you can manage to set it up (basically secure it) relatively easily and quickly. Now, about shading and heat. Okay, obviously if you get it to go to the beach at noon WITHOUT GOING INTO THE SEA and you want to sit only inside (full shade), then you will say "it's unbearable in here" no matter how much breeze there is. It's not a tent/roof for us to know what we ask for and what we want. When closing, because I imagine many neglect, at the end of each summer, wash it with water in an open space and let it dry. Then put it back in its case and the tent remains like new. Seeing how mine is, I will say that it easily lasts me another 3 years since it doesn't have any visible signs of wear anywhere.
Everything seems fine at first glance, but with warm weather, whether there is wind or not, you get burned underneath this specific tent scene!!!! No shading, I used it for 2 years but with dark towels on its outer side for shading. It was not worth the 138 euros I paid to buy it.
After 3 years, one of the ribs broke and the other two are ready to break as well. It cannot withstand strong wind, but it is much better than a regular umbrella. It opens easily and once you realize it, it is faster than putting up an umbrella.
Now, if I will spend 100+ euros again for 3 years... I don't think so
Fourth year that I will use it, it comfortably fits 2 adults and somewhat limited third person, it has sun protection and ventilation but in high temperatures it still gets warm even with the windows open. In case there is wind, it brings integrated bags that you fill with sand or pebbles so that the wind doesn't take it away. The opening and folding system is quite easy.
I give it 3 stars solely for its durability over time. I have had the tent for 5 years and it hasn't budged at all. It needs immediate repair at this specific point though. The frame is connected to the fabric through straps with plastic clips on the edges. The straps, due to wear and tear over time, have started to break almost entirely. If I can replace them, the tent will hold up for many more years. So far, it has endured strong winds on a Cycladic island every summer and provided great protection from wind and sun, without me personally getting overheated. It easily withstands even a 7 Beaufort wind without any issues, when there was no umbrella in sight around me. I bought it for around 120€ and it's not worth spending more because it won't last more than 5 years if it faces strong winds.
It is the second summer that I have been using it. Very comfortable for 2-3 friends, with a cooler for our bags. It has a fairly large compartment above the head for small items, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. Not for mobile phones or any other electrical item as it will overheat. If you want to put a chair inside, it is recommended to put a towel underneath so that the fabric does not tear. Very easy to set up and pack without any hassle, with the cords being a very good mechanism, in 2 minutes without any help, make sure to tighten the 2 short and thin ends down before opening and fold it before packing. It can be set up on sand, pebbles, or slightly larger stones. In wind up to 3 Beaufort, rarely encountered 4-5 Beaufort, of course, the cords should be tied to a stone or tree, filling the 3 pockets it has and it stands like a rock, it is recommended to lean against the back or side as it will lift up due to its height. Inside, if the sun sees it with 35+ degrees and you haven't set it up in a way that allows air to pass through to cool down, it will be like a greenhouse, you will burst due to the thin fabric. It has a "tongue" that extends the shaded area for lying down or sitting, the "tongue" has a clever innovation, you can close it like a door with 4 points or 2 if you want (half-open) when you don't have visual contact with the tent or to sleep inside or change your clothes. I can say that it is a very practical tent, thanks to the automatic mechanism and large windows with good panoramic visibility like 360 degrees, a bit heavy as packaging but okay. Nice and high-quality bag with complete instructions sewn inside, and if you have a small trunk in your car, think about it, it barely fit diagonally for me, otherwise in the back seats.
**Today I saw someone next to me setting up a new tent, the TerraNation - Kau Kohu Ultra Eclipse. It looks very nice and higher quality, with the difference that it has better coverage with 98+ UV protection, also the floor has better lining, larger poles on the top for more shade, and larger side windows and a small opening with mosquito nets on the roof, all for double the price!!
Extremely easy to set up and very lightweight and comfortable to carry. Perfect for a machine. After one year of purchase and due to misuse, a plastic part broke. However, I took it to the store where I bought it and they replaced it immediately. Now I have been using it for a month this year and it is PERFECT.
Προσωπικά σαν καταναλωτής εκτιμώ ότι υπήρχε κάποια αστοχία στο προϊόν η ακόμα περισσότερο κάποιο λάθος στο στήσιμο.Και εν μέρει είναι λογικο.Σε μια γραμμή παραγωγής εκατομμυρίων ίδιων υλικών μπορεί σε κάποιο να μην γίνει σωστή συναρμολόγηση υλικών και με λίγο περισσότερη πίεση να σπάσει.Προσωπικά θα ήθελα να μοιραστώ την δικιά μου εμπειρία.Εγώ το αγόρασα πριν από 5 χρόνια τουλάχιστον και αμέσως το έδωσα στον αδερφό μου.Οικογενειαρχης με 2 παιδιά περισσότερη καταπόνηση και λιγότερη φροντίδα από έναν που το χρησιμοποιεί μόνος το και όπως μου είπε χαρακτηριστικά τους έχει σώσει.Και από θέμα προστασίας της ηλιακής ακτινοβολίας και από θέμα ποιότητας υλικών.Και εννοείται ότι συνεχίζει να το χρησιμοποιεί χωρίς κανένα ενδοιασμό.Λογικό και επόμενο ότι σκοπεύω να αγοράσω και εγώ το ίδιο μοντέλο αλλά σε πιο καινούριο και ελπίζω το γεγονός ότι προέρχεται από ανακυκλώσιμα υλικά να μην το κάνει πιο εύθραυστο.
Disappointing purchase, it seems from the comments that they lost the good quality in this specific product from the company and it wasn't just our piece. It broke the first time using it, without air.
After the 4th or 5th use, one of the plastic parts of the frame broke during the collection, resulting in it not being able to be set up properly again.
After the first use, I think it's a purchase that is worth the money! It is stable even in the wind, very easy to open and close, and has very good sun protection! It is also quite spacious! The only problem for those who go to the beach in the morning and leave after the sun sets, like me, is that they will need an umbrella for the morning hours when the sun is still low! It would also be good to do a test at home before going to the beach to see how it opens and closes!
Γενικά με ομπρέλες, σκηνές κτλ δεν το έχω καθόλου.
Η συγκεκριμένη είναι αστεία εύκολο να στηθεί και να μαζευτεί. Πραγματικά υπόθεση μισού λεπτού.
Στο μέγεθος. εμείς που είμαστε 2 άτομα, προβληματίστηκα μήπως είναι too much. Θεωρώ πως και για 2+2 παιδιά θα είναι μια χαρά, για 3 ενήλικες σίγουρα είναι οκ.
Αναμένω μόνο να τη δοκιμάσουμε και σε συνθήκες ανέμου.
Καλη αν και μετα απο 3 χρονια εσπασε οπως στον χρήστη με τη φωτογραφία. Η εταιρία όμως το αντικατεστησε το σκελετό. Αν βγαλει αλλα 3 χρονια θα ειναι μια χαρά. Πιστευω πως θελει προσοχή λίγο και δεν ειναι για πολλους ανέμους
really very good in all aspects. the only thing I would suggest they change is replacing the top part of the sunshade with thicker fabric with lower light permeability because combined with stillness and high temperature at noon you kind of boil. other than that, first year at the beach with our baby saved us
Το αγόρασα πρόσφατα και ήδη το έχω χρησιμοποιήσει 2 φορές (8ωρη χρήση την κάθε φορά).
Θετικά: στήνεται εύκολα, ξεστήνεται εύκολα, ελαφριά κατασκευή μεταφέρεται έυκολα. Σε μικρά μελτεμάκια που συνάντησα δεν είχε κανένα πρόβλημα. Χωράει άνετα 3 άτομα. Έχει 3 μεγάλα παράθυρα με σίτα.
Αρνητικά: η ηλιοπροστασία είναι χάλια, θα προτιμούσα να είχε την ηλιοπροστασία της ομπρέλας TerraNation Kaukiri που έχω, το UV50+ δεν το καταλαβαίνω. Με αποτέλεσμα να έχει πολύ ζέστη για να καθίσεις μέσα. Είναι υποχρεωτικό να το συνδυάσεις και με ομπρέλα αν θες καλή σκιά.
Θεωρώ, ότι για τα χρήματά της, περίμενεις περισσότερα έχοντας άλλα προϊόντα TerraNation.
Κορυφαία ποιότητα. Δεν πίστευα οτι θα ηταν τοσο καλη αξίζει τα χρήματα αν και είναι ακριβή. Δροσερή γρήγορο στήσιμο και την πρώτη φορά που την έστησα είχε άνεμο και δεν κουνήθηκε.Για δύο ενήλικες και για ένα παιδί είναι πολύ άνετη.
Στήνεται πανεύκολα, ακόμα και με α επτά και είναι πόλυ πιο σταθερή και εύχρηστη από ομπρέλα... αξίζει τα λεφτά της μέχρι το τελευταίο cent, θα ήθελα μόνο λίγο πιο μεγάλη θήκη.
Έχοντα παιδευτεί αρκετά με σκηνές παραλίας που δεν στήνονται μόνες τους η συγκεκριμένη είναι εκπληκτική.
Την έστησα σπίτι για δοκιμή χωρίς καν να διαβάσω τις οδηγίες.
Το κλείσιμο το ίδιο (για να τα κάνω λίγο θάλασσα, στην θάλασσα μετά).
Μ' αρέσει που έχει θήκες για πέτρες εξωτερικά, που έχει μεγάλα παράθυρα και φυσικά το μέγεθος της καθώς είμαστε 2 μεγάλοι και 2 παιδιά.
amazing construction... sets up and takes down easily by one person. It has no problem with strong wind... the downside is its high price but it's worth it
According to my wife, it took her 2 minutes to open it at the beach and it is very spacious with a high-quality fabric! She mentioned it was an amazing shade... people at the beach were asking her where she got it from!
August 2023: After 4 summers of use, unfortunately, it broke at one point and tore at another. However, despite that, I am considering getting it again because our "cave" was very convenient for us!
