Very good product, we traveled with my wife to all the islands in Syvota and even on our way back we encountered bad weather, but it didn't give us any trouble. It was fully loaded with 2 people and luggage, and even when we inflated it a little more to make it more stable, it didn't run into any issues. It's very important to take 4 large noodles and place them on the sides inside, two on each side between the side balloons and on the floor from the stern to the bow. I saw this on a website abroad and it really makes a difference, much more stable. Also, take two extra paddles and use their pieces to extend the two that are already inside, it's necessary. I also bought two wings from China, I will stick them on the keel with PVC glue for extra stability, and I bought a circular sail from China on the well-known Ali, but I couldn't catch any wind to use it. It also needs a small net tied to the bow or stern to keep your things stable inside the canoe, you can get it from a gas station. If you want to relax a little inside the canoe without worry, you also need a small butterfly anchor, 1.5 kg with a 10-meter sea rope. You can make an anchor system with two mountaineering hooks, if you tie one to the bow and one to the stern and pass a rope through the mountaineering rings, it's an anchor system to adjust your position when you are tied up in relation to the waves. There are relative videos on YouTube, it's easy. Wash it after the ride with plenty of fresh water, let it dry, fold it, and put it in its suitcase. Have a great time at sea and be careful, it enhances your summers and takes you to beaches and caves that you would never go to. Spacious and reliable, good rides!
It easily punctures the floor. With only 4 uses, I had 2 small holes. Easy to inflate and transport. I would recommend something stronger, even if it costs a few extra euros.
Very good purchase, in relation to its value for money as a product. After 4-5 uses, one valve started to lose a little air, which results in it being partially deflated after several hours, but this is not practically an issue, since by then we will have already reached the shore and can reinflate it in a few seconds.
In the sea, when there are waves, it is quite difficult to navigate steadily, but when it is calm or if you are in a lake, it is excellent.
The best for its price.
I have had it for 1 month and I have enjoyed it a lot (used near the beach and for transportation from cove to cove, not many kilometers). Relatively easy to inflate. A bit heavy in its bag. With care in deflation and rinsing after each use, it seems that it will last. It comfortably supports 2 people weighing 80 and 70 kilograms respectively. For now, I definitely recommend it. I will return after more use.
Purchased in July '24. It was my first experience with a kayak and I consciously decided to buy something more affordable to see if it would capture my interest. In the end, I loved the kayak both as exercise and for fun. Without having a comparison with another, the Explorer K2 is quite satisfactory in terms of time and ease of inflation, and if you hold it right, you can comfortably carry it by foot on your own. In the sea, it feels incredibly stable. You can dive and get back up easily, and when you're paddling in choppy water, it inspires no concern. However, it has the feel of a balloon that is quite affected by the wind. The paddles do not give the sense of rigidity that I would like. I think it is quite sensitive to the sun, as it has stretched without me forcing it during inflation. But considering the cost, I think everything is justified.
So far it's going pretty well, we're going on adventures around Athens and beyond, it holds up!! The only negative is that the velcro for the front position came off
I have had it for two months and have used it in the sea quite a bit. The only problem is that the fin is very difficult to remove. While I would like to remove it frequently, I can't and it bothers me. However, it performs well in the waves, it is convenient for two people - even for me, who is over 1.85 meters tall - it inflates quickly - although the pump is terrible and uncomfortable. I have heard that it is sensitive to seams, so I always pay attention to how much air I put in using the 10cm gauge it provides per chamber. It is useful, but it could have provided the same result by simply stating how many psi or bar it requires per chamber. It is lightweight when transporting it with two people when it is inflated. It is difficult for one person to handle alone due to its volume - especially if it has been inflated for a while. I bring it to the beach on foot, or inflate it there, and it is ready in 5 to 7 minutes. I never leave it in the sun because the vinyl it is made of is sensitive to temperature. I always rinse it with water after being in the sea and let it dry before deflating and storing it to prevent it from getting moldy and smelly. With a little care, I believe it will last me for years! I definitely recommend it
Like a balloon in the wind. It takes just a little bit of blowing and the air takes it away. Suitable (and definitely not certain), only for a lake or extreme conditions.
The INDIAN PIE, whoever manages to get it for 100€ is one of the most worth things you will do in your life, until 150€ it's worth it, then you go to the big brother, the red excursion. Whether you want it for playing, for a relaxing stroll or even for a trip to the islands of the Saronic Gulf, it takes you there smoothly without any issues, of course depending on each person's experience and endurance. We have reached the veins of Attica from small ports. It inflates in 10 minutes max and ready to set sail to our familiar unknown landscapes. Be very careful with the weather, if it's windy it will torment you because it's a game, not for adventures, regardless of whether it responds to everything, it never flips in a wave, it goes all the way without feeling pressure. Appetite for rowing and a happy mood and you will see caves and rocky islets with an incredible view at the most value for money price available
It is the first canoe I do/have. Completely satisfied. It inflates very quickly with its own pump. No need to buy another one. I went alone and with the kids for a ride. It sails nicely and overall I didn't have any difficulties anywhere.
I washed it every time on return with clean water and didn't leave it in the sun.
I transferred my review to the new account so I can track and update it. It has quite a large extent but it is reliable.
CAUTION THOUGH! We are talking about the cheapest Value For Money Kayak available on the market worldwide.
With Bison Vinyl Plastic, you can repair any hole in the canoe, even in the air chamber.
If you want it to go faster, invest in paddles. The stiffer, the better. And pay attention to their design so they don't scoop up too much water when coming out of the sea.
This specific canoe belongs to the vinyl category and not the well-known hard PVC.
With seawater, you can store it occasionally. With freshwater, it definitely needs good drying as it can create mold and fungi, unlike seawater.
I bought it on 13/06/2020 for €100 from Jumbo, and today, as I fully renew my review, it is 15/07/2024.
The small punctures mentioned in other reviews have not appeared in mine, and I believe it was a matter of batch.
For safety reasons and for stops, I carry two anchors with a chain (one bruce and one umbrella).
Bruce anchors are suitable for any type of seabed, and for this reason, they are the most reliable in emergency situations.
The Intex Explorer K2 is very maneuverable as it is not fast, but if you have endurance, you can cover long distances. Since it has large balloons, water does not get in at all from the waves, only from the paddles.
Beyond the small trips to the beaches, I have used it for Patroklos in Attica, the Seal Cave, the Rheumatonia Islands in Kimolos, in Fleves, on the islands opposite Tolo, in Karathonas of Nafplio, and extensive use in Naxos, etc.
On 04/10/2023, we went for a trip all around the southern side of Poros. When packing up, for the first time, I saw that the seam in the back right corner of the bottom had come apart by 10 centimeters. It is the only damage that cannot be repaired. It is not a defect of the product. I was at fault as I inflated it more for greater stiffness. From use and continuous excessive inflation, I managed to exceed the 10 centimeters of the pressure indicator that is written on the kayak.
I still use it since that day in Poros. Obviously, I don't keep it for too long as I bought a new one for €800 with a drop stitch bottom, many additions, and upgraded paddles made of Kevlar... it reached €1000, but with so much use even in winter, it was worth going for something better.
I loved the Explorer K2. It gave me incredible moments in calm waters and strong winds. The €130 it costs now, I assume is worth it because the canoe comes with stronger material than the one I purchased.
I will upload photos of the changes I have made, the repairs, and the issue with the seam so you have a complete picture. The small hole in the bow resulted from thorns in Naxos during transport on foot. I do not have the mooring with the base and the buoy as I have left it permanently in the sea in Naxos to find it ready when I go. In the bow for the rod, I have changed the rope to black.
The white nozzle on the tube is a cut silicone gun tip to push the valve to the bottom so the pump can draw air during deflation.
After 5 outings, the side seam opened. It cannot be fixed. 130 euros wasted on this year's cost. It's a shame because it seemed very good and was easy to inflate, use, and transport.
For its price and intended purpose, it is excellent. With basic maintenance according to its specifications, it is flawless. Personally, I inflate it according to the gauge, and when I take it out of the sea, I don't drag it around on pebbles and rocks. A little rinsing with the hose every afternoon, and this is the third summer that I have been using it without any problems. It hasn't torn anywhere and hasn't needed any patching, everything is okay. The carrying bag and pump are average, but considering the overall cost of the package, they are fine, as it will do the job and I would generally recommend it. The only reason I deducted 1 star is because the straps on the seats loosen periodically and need to be tightened regularly.
Good game but not for long. I had 2 and eventually bought a regular plastic kayak. Particularly sensitive to the seams of the floor, so be careful when inflating (always with the gauge). Also, be careful with the sun. I had reached the point of always carrying patches and glue in my bag.
It is good for its money and very good quality....
Especially for someone who does not have much space to transport a regular plastic kayak.
We bought it for 99 euros back then and we have used it for four summers without any problems. It inflates quickly, especially with an electric pump. It is stable and fast with two people who will learn to paddle synchronously without sinking the paddle too much into the water. It supposedly holds 160 kilos, but we have done a trip with 4 people, 240 kilos in total, without sinking or seams opening...
Like all inflatable boats, it requires specific attention in use and maintenance:
1) We do not enter with sandy feet because the sand goes to the corners and rubs the seams, so it will puncture quickly. So we rinse our feet and then enter inside.
2) We do not leave it with salt, but we rinse it with fresh water after each use.
3) We do not overinflate it and especially do not leave it inflated at noon to bake under the sun. The air inside will heat up and the seams will open. So it is preferable in such a case to deflate it a little if it stays under the sun. You will have its pump with you as well as a small repair kit with patches... although they may not be necessary. There are also adhesive patches for Author bicycle tubes for a quick repair. It never punctured on us, of course...
4) We do not drag it on the sand because it can puncture, and we pay attention to the place where we will inflate it to be clean. We carry it by lifting it to the sea and THEN we pass the keel...
5) With two people, it is fast, has good directionality, and performs well in waves, just do not exaggerate, and of course, always look at the direction of the wind to avoid difficulties on the return. With four people, however, do not expect performance as it sinks a larger part into the water and the two who will paddle will get tired... Of course, we also had the electric underwater scooter with us with three batteries, so that worked for us!!
It is worth the 100 euros for short trips of 2-3 miles, but always keep in mind that it is a boat in the water and the sea requires attention and RESPECT...
At 2:09 of this video, you can see the kayak.
Because it doesn't have anything like Halkidiki!!
I have had the canoe for a year. It is really as it appears in the photo (including everything, even the pump). It takes about 10-15 minutes to inflate and the same amount of time to deflate. The only drawback is that it is a bit heavy to transport over long distances. I really recommend it because for its price, I don't think there is any other better option.
Hello, its price is great, I bought it for fishing, it easily covers long distances. One major drawback is that it requires attention to the seams, as if it is overinflated, it may burst. I am passionate about it, a better choice is the more expensive immediate option, red in color
I bought it 10 days ago, good in navigation, small wave, seems to be well constructed in terms of material, it doesn't easily puncture. However... the stability wing, once you place it, it doesn't come out at all. The paddles are of poor quality, not easily detachable... in one paddle, the disassembly safety was lost, which stabilizes the paddle. One paddle can no longer be detached...
As a general image, it's not very suitable for the sea, but it's good for lakes. It's somewhat inconvenient for inflation, deflation, washing, and storage due to its volume and weight.
I wouldn't buy it again.
While my first evaluation was very positive for this specific canoe, I will change it. I bought it just a month ago and used it only 5 times for relaxed rides without putting any strain on it. And of course, I took very good care of it (proper rinsing, drying, etc.). However, the seam near the bow opened, causing it to lose air very quickly. I managed to safely return to shore only to discover a 5-inch tear exactly on the seam. It is a point that cannot be repaired no matter what I tried. Unfortunately, it ended up in the trash just like that.
It inflates immediately with an electronic pump.
It is unbelievably nice for its price.
Convenient, seats two people comfortably.
Sometimes it deflates when exposed to the sun, but I don't know if I did something wrong.
It has a hole for water drainage, which is very convenient.
The only downside is that it is VERY heavy.
It is the first canoe I have purchased, which, after reading the excellent reviews, I couldn't choose any other. It is an inflatable canoe that is exceptional in terms of quality and durability (as it seems from the first tests I did). While it is quite large, about 3 meters long, the way it is packed back into the bag that is already included in the box it comes with, is very easy and it fits comfortably inside the bag. Of course, the bag is not of the best quality, it requires attention and not too much force. In terms of the inflation process, it includes a plastic manual pump, which is not of the best quality, but it inflates the canoe quite quickly! Which surprised me. The first time I inflated it, with my pace, it took me 15 minutes to fully inflate it (canoe, seats). The second time at the beach, it took me less than 10 minutes. The canoe has 5 valves, two of which are double, meaning that when you want to deflate the canoe, you unscrew them and it releases the air on its own. Also, these two valves do not lose air when you add more. Another good feature of the canoe is that it has a valve at the back to let water out in case it fills up. The paddles are made of aluminum (except for the ends which are plastic) and are of good quality, easy to transport (as they are collapsible) and use. It comfortably fits two people of average weight (up to 90 kg per person) and has plenty of legroom (especially in the front), but the front seat has an adjustable margin that you can set if you want it to go forward or backward. The seats are very comfortable even though they are inflatable and have straps to adjust the backrest angle (very important). As for the experience in the sea, initially it is easy for even one person to transport it into the sea and it is not too heavy when inflated. It is easy to climb onto it. I happened to have 3 Beaufort winds with a bit of waves and current on the day of the test. With one person on board (which is considered more difficult to handle than two people), I can say that it performs well despite the waves. By continuously paddling, the canoe gains speed and goes satisfactorily where you want it to. It is also easy to change direction. However, because there was a current, when I let go of the paddle, the current easily took the canoe away. In my opinion, it is not advisable to use the canoe in winds of 3 Beaufort or higher, or if there are waves. It will be best in calm seas or lakes. Also, equip yourself with two life jackets with a buoyancy of 50N, suitable for water sports. Also, get a waterproof case to have your mobile phone with you in case you need it. It has plenty of space in the front and back for other things (water, food, etc.). The canoe should not be left in the sun for too long (it is good to pack it up as soon as it dries) and after returning home or after a multi-day trip, rinse it with fresh water. The only downside I have to mention (but it is a logical one) is that because the entire canoe and its accessories, which all fit inside the bag during storage, are quite heavy (15-18 kg) and difficult to transport from the car to the beach. I parked 50 meters away and I had a hard time carrying it. That's why it is good to take it with you if you know you will have the car next to the beach. Whoever buys it, however, is certain to enjoy it!!!
At this price, especially if someone is a beginner or it is their first kayak, it is the best value for money available. I already had 2 kayaks, one plastic fishing kayak and one good quality inflatable two-seater (Sevylor), and I bought this one to leave at my country house. It is also complete with paddles and a pump. PS: Until last year, you could find it for 100€. This year, it is on sale for 130€. Damn inflation!
We used it three times without any problem.
The last time we had to exert a little more force to be able to get to the shore due to the wind, and both paddles broke at the middle joint.
Also, from the first day it was attached, we couldn't manage to remove the wing no matter how much we pressed the notches.
Combine it with the Intex quick fill. You connect it to the car's cigarette lighter and it inflates literally in 5 minutes! It's worth it so far! I hope it withstands the test of time!
+It is easily transported, inflates/deflates quickly, the paddles are of good construction, and its navigation is relatively good.
-The pump, although effective, does not seem capable of lasting long, and the material used is not the best (given the price, it is understandable).
Some observations: it should be washed well after each use and, if possible, stored unfolded. In solo rowing, you can increase the length of the paddle by adding sections from the second paddle (it helps a lot).
In the price range of 90-100€, it is worth buying, but not more.
First time experience with a canoe and I can say that it is the ultimate value for money. 10 minutes to inflate and the same amount of time to deflate/pack up. It comfortably fits me and my wife, with our 1-year-old baby on my lap wearing a life jacket.
Today I received it. I didn't have a chance to try it. On one side, as you can see in the photo, it has a hole and on the other side, it leaks from the valve. It's going back for a refund. I won't prefer a replacement. I will ask for my money back, I am disappointed.
For the money, it's great.
We shouldn't overinflate it and it shouldn't be left in the sun.
After each ride, wash it with fresh water.
It is very stable and has plenty of space.
It inflates easily.
