Sturdy construction and the alarm works well. The negative aspect is that the spring stopped working after 2 months, causing me to unlock it and hit it with my hand to get the lock out, UNACCEPTABLE. This is the second time I have chosen this company and it will be the last. The first time I bought a chain with an integrated lock and again after a short time, the key got stuck. I note that I use them very carefully and the problems are not due to misuse!
Unfortunately, after 3 years, the lock broke in my hand. I took it to the dealership, but it cannot be fixed. It's a shame, considering it cost 150 euros. And from what I read in the comments, others had the same problem.
I have had this specific lock for about 5-6 years and it works perfectly with daily use. In all these years, I have only changed the batteries twice! I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews. I should note that it has fallen down a few times, mainly from the height of the wheel.
I have had it for 6 to 7 years with actual use of at least 3 because at some point I didn't have a machine. I didn't have any problems and the truth is that I was concerned when I read some comments about the lock. However, I should mention that when I bought it, the only thing the seller told me was not to pull the trigger too abruptly because something else might come off. Otherwise, the only thing I have to mention is some rust marks that I didn't bother to clean to see if they are from the lock or the disc brake.
Edit 10-12-22: The rust is on the lock but stationary, and the alarm sometimes shows either less sensitivity and doesn't trigger immediately or triggers on its own once and then works normally.
As previous reviewers have mentioned, after 3 years of use, the main body of the product fell apart in my hands and I was constantly losing the other components. I am disappointed with the amount of money I spent and, of course, I will not purchase from abus again.
I had it for 3 years with minimal use. One day I tried to put it back on the disc brake and the key was turning crazy. Eventually, I saw that the lock had come off from its position (from the edge of the metal where it was glued). Trying to put it back in, the balls and related parts came off as well... Also, no matter how impressive and sturdy the lock inside may seem, it simply holds the balls that the piston rolls. Its size is about the size of a 2 euro coin... Be careful before you buy it.
Now I use 2 locks: one for the front disc brake (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEmCuoVJjRA) and one for the rear gear, kryptonite (like the first one), with 14mm piston diameter and the pistons lock on both sides of the lock (so that a large cut is needed to be violated by cutting). I hope I helped someone. Good luck to everyone.
I have had it for 6 years and I went to unlock it and the lock remained in my hands, it broke. I took it to the dealership, it cannot be fixed, it's a useless 140 euro lock. I do not recommend it, get another one with a different mechanism
Excellent, very easy to use. It activates relatively easily by the wind, which doesn't bother me because it will do its job whenever needed. I have also made a video review of the lock: https://youtu.be/ZEnOO015hRI
I have had it for 2-3 years and I am completely satisfied.
I have only changed the batteries once, and I used Energizer alkaline batteries.
It has never fallen down, of course.
I use it 2-4 times a week.
I am surprised by the negative reviews, of course.....if I had seen them before buying it, I wouldn't have bought it haha.
Luckily, it seems I am one of the lucky ones.
I had bought it for 140 euros back then.
I have it for 3 years, very good product. It needs battery replacement twice a year with continuous operation.
I have had it for 2 years and I haven't had any problems so far. It needs good batteries to last long enough. With rechargeable ones, it doesn't last more than 2 weeks.
Update: I have had the lock since 2017 and up until today, the end of 2024, working it almost every other day for nearly 7 years, it hasn't presented me with the slightest problem.
Purchased in 2015, 3 or 4 times I have changed the battery. The comments I see that it stayed in their hand etc. is because you pulled it all the way while it doesn't need so much, it happened to me once, I went to the store where I bought it and they fixed it for me and explained to me what I should do, so be careful.
After 8 years of daily use, the lock works flawlessly.
Purchased in 2015 until today (2024) it works perfectly.
In the 3 years that I have it with very minimal use, without ever dropping it, I simply went to put it on the machine and it stayed in my hands. The little balls inside fell out. As I see in the comments above, this has happened to many people. Such a waste of money
It looks good, quality-wise.
In videos I watched, it takes 3-3.5 minutes for it to be broken with a wheel, which is considered sufficient because the noise of the wheel will wake up the whole neighborhood.
It has a built-in 3D motion alarm, which works very well, it detects all movements except I am not satisfied with its siren. It could sound louder.
Also, some have reported that after some time the spring broke and consequently the disco lock became useless.
Personally, I have had it for 1 month and I am generally satisfied. Only time will tell
I have had it for 3 years and just the day before yesterday it fell apart in my hands just like that... I tried to lock it and the little balls inside fell out, resulting in it not being able to lock.
For the money I spent (about 120), I believe it's not worth it and I definitely could find something better! Additionally, the batteries run out frequently.
I have had it for 4 years and I have changed the batteries (2 AAA) once. Overall, it has saved me several times when someone tried to move the machine, resulting in the loud alarm being heard. Just to give you an idea, I can hear it from the second floor of an apartment building with closed windows. I have never encountered the problems mentioned below, but I don't know if there has ever been an attempted theft. Generally, I believe it is a sturdy construction that will withstand the test of time, with the only "drawback" being its weight and therefore its portability.
Cheap money!!!!!!
It broke in two years.. literally broke!!!!!
The black part you see in the picture broke from the inside, which cannot be justified by misuse or violation. I was left with the spring and the balls in my hand. There must be some problem with the construction material....
A good lock for your motorcycle's front brake disc. Its battery needs to be changed regularly, depending on its quality of course. It is another deterrent. Its audible notification is satisfactory, especially as a reminder when you forget it locked and try to start. It appears sturdy and is easily transported. I hope, of course, that I never have to discover its effectiveness :)
