Good and stable in the car. I traveled from Athens to Thessaloniki with two children's bicycles and at a good speed (120-150 km) without any problems. For better safety, I believe that additional fastening is needed, apart from the one strap it has. I suggest passing a tape or gauze on the hooks to avoid scratches on the vehicle, so that it does not directly touch the vehicle.
The screws loosen or come off! I wouldn't say it can withstand 40 kilos! My bike fell apart on the road and hung because the straps loosened and couldn't hold tight
I bought the bc-5 base that says it is for hatchback cars, specifically I installed it on a Seat Ibiza. From the one time I used it, it seems stable and of good quality. I put 2 bikes on it and it doesn't seem to have a problem. It will show over time how long it will last.
Very functional the base. I use it for 3 children's bicycles. It fits better on large bicycles but with a little effort, the children's ones can also fit. Easy to use and stable. Functional for long trips but also for short distances.
Easy to use! Quite sturdy construction! I didn't encounter any problems on a loaded trip.
So far it does its job well, I install it in a Toyota Auris without any problem and easily. I use it for 2 children's bicycles. Now as for durability, it will show...
Quite a good rack. I have placed up to two bicycles. For a third one, I still don't know if it is okay in terms of space. It is worth its price.
Easy installation. Good support for the bikes; if you use an additional strap to stabilize the front wheel, it will be a perfect rack.
Value for money!
It needs a little attention, the contact point with the bodywork must be well cleaned to avoid scratches from dust on the paint.
The base is very good although I have used it only twice... it ties very quickly... it is stable... it also has an extra strap to tie the bike so it doesn't move... I believe it was worth its money!
It does not fit perfectly on a Corolla Station Wagon. Three bicycles do not fit. Difficult to install. The instructions are really bad and confusing. In order to fit three bicycles, the rack must be flat and outside the limits of the trunk. Otherwise, the inner bicycle will hit the car.
However, for the money it costs, it is fine. As a material, it is quite good quality and well-made. I would generally recommend it.
Good but in Lancia Y the hood does not open if you do not remove the top hooks, that is, the grill should come out completely!
I use it in a TOYOTA Auris. The construction is fine. It's a bit tricky to install it in the car. It can actually hold 3 regular-sized bicycles, as long as you arrange them correctly. The downside is that after two years, the plastic arms that hold the bicycles have loosened a bit. Get a bungee cord for better securing the bikes on the rack. Value for money!
For a first taste, it seems to be a good construction. However, I will come back after 4-5 rides for a better picture. Main use is for a 13kg MTB bike.
5 months later, everything is fine. The straps need a little tightening every now and then. A very good purchase in terms of price - quality.
Excellent, really good value for money purchase. Sturdy construction although a bit heavy. The straps are very good and the fasteners with the teeth do not allow the straps to loosen at all. Someone below who writes that it came off on the road simply wouldn't know how to place it. I did 350 km on a national road, with a bit of dirt road and plenty of country roads, placing a small bicycle and a Trilogy Iglesina child's stroller on the base. If you tighten it well and tie the objects with the plastic ties, nothing moves. The first time is difficult until you find the ideal placement position. I recommend it.
Very good construction, although a bit heavy since it is made of iron and not aluminum. The top straps go over any spoiler. I have tried it on a Seat Leon 2005 and a Nissan Qashqai 2014, both of which have a spoiler, without any problems at all!
Of Greek origin, excellent construction that offers easy and secure installation on any type of car. However, I must emphasize that the installation instructions are really outdated and do not help the user easily understand the way to install the rack. For this reason, I remove one star from my rating.
Very sturdy construction and versatile for various types of vehicles. I have used it in vans, SUVs, and hatchbacks, covering hundreds of kilometers on national and provincial roads without any issues. I have also loaded adult and children's bicycles. The only problem (hence the low rating) is in the design... Both sections (bicycle support and upper support) are "internal," meaning you have to adjust both at the same time. It is extremely time-consuming and cumbersome, and if you do it alone, it can be dangerous for your car. If you use it on a single vehicle and don't need to disassemble it every time, it works great.
It is stable, the slots are convenient for bikes to fit in without slipping. The only issue is that the plastic cover around the clamps appears unstable, and if the clamp comes off, it could damage the bodywork.
Very sturdy construction. Greek product, I bought it because it fits cars with vertical rear windows. It is easily installed in 5-10 minutes. It has good and thick plastic parts that come in contact with the car, and the metal hooks are plastic-coated to prevent damage to the paint. It also has a 7th strap to secure the bikes to the rack. It is probably too big (the distance between the arms) for mounting children's bikes (24") in the traditional way. For women's bikes, a bar between the seat and the handlebar is needed, which applies to all racks of this type. I will come back with more details after testing to see if it deserves 5 stars.
A very good solution that has nothing to envy from, for example, the equivalent Thule.
Also, for station wagon cars where the rear window is almost vertical, it may be the only one that supports it because it has these 2 arms that can lock in different positions
