The worst thing ever. At first, it did its job. After a month, whenever I connected it, it didn't make good contact, I don't know, sometimes it would open, sometimes not, and in the end, it would shut down my laptop every time I connected it. The laptop works fine with other bases. Now it's constantly doing it and it's gone to the trash. A laptop will burn and we'll be running. Money wasted. Poor quality
Good base overall (I bought it for 25 euros). I've had it for 2-3 weeks.
Positives:
(1) It has the ability to open (a) the bottom fans, (b) the top fans, (c) all of them together, and (d) obviously none (to have it only as a base).
(2) While it does occupy one USB port on the laptop, it provides another one at the back, which personally I use for my wireless mouse.
(3) It has 2 "scales" to adjust the tilt of the base. It also has 2 clips on the top side that you can lift to hold the laptop in case it slides downwards.
(4) It has LED lights (red or blue, depending on what you purchased), which give a nice effect...
Negatives:
(1) If you have the laptop closed but the base connected, the base continues to draw power and the fans keep running. Personally, I consider this a manufacturing flaw and the most significant drawback. I don't know, maybe it could be the laptop's fault, which of course I bought in early 2022 (HP Pavilion Ryzen 7-5800H 16Gb Ram 1 Tb ssd series).
(2) In the description for the specifications on Skroutz, it says maximum "size 17.3''. This can give someone the wrong impression that a 17-inch laptop fits on the base. Mine is 15.6", so it fits, but I believe a 17" laptop would protrude (I haven't tested it, that's why I say I believe).
It has a nice design, with 4 red illuminated fans that create a nice lighting at night. The noise is tolerable. It cools my laptop well, which has an issue with its temperature. It is a value for money stand, and it also has pads to keep the laptop stable in its position without slipping.
I have it for 1 year, I haven't encountered any problems.
It does the job much better compared to a basic model.
The call function is very helpful and the raised plastic prevents it from slipping.
The noise is tolerable and if there is some noise or music in the room, then it is not heard at all.
I bought it 2 months ago. What impressed me right away is how poor the quality looks, despite being stable as a base. The design is good, but its biggest drawback is the noise the fans make, which bothers me
I have this and a similar one in Chinese (https://www.skroutz.gr/s/8453100/OEM-CoolCold-K25-17-Black.html#js_review_182190). The Chinese one is better, it is metallic and has adjustable intensity on the fans. One costs 30 euros and the other 8.
Anyway, everything is made in China, the issue is that the specifications are correct!
I received it as a gift 2 months ago. For the 40 euros it was purchased from a large chain (unfortunately, I don't know what Scroutz is), I have not been satisfied. The quality seems excellent, BUT from the second use, one of the 4 fans started making noise... The photos don't do it justice.
Pros: It does what it is designed for... my i7 works steadily at 50 degrees from the 80+ degrees (Update in the summer) and I have it at the lowest RPM. It has an additional USB port, so it doesn't "eat up" a port. It has 2 regulators to control the speed of the fans, with the ability to completely shut them off. Nice lighting. Nice design.
Cons: Price, it could have the option to be powered by both the power supply and provide 2+ USB ports. The rubber on the edges of the feet prevents slipping, but when you push it backward with the laptop on top, they get stuck and close. The regulators are placed at the back, and when you have the laptop on top, you can't reach them at all.
In the second month of use, one of the 4 blades burned out and was replaced with a new one
-1 star because in a few months after my purchase, one of the fans broke
