The name Converse Chuck Taylor comes from a basketball player named Charles "Chuck" Taylor who joined a team sponsored by Converse at the time, called "Converse All Stars." Shortly after, the All Stars became established on basketball courts and became the No.1 choice for many professional players. Their use was so versatile that they were used by Olympic athletes to American soldiers in World War II.
