I tried a different no-name head a few days ago, but it was probably of poor quality and had a lot of vibrations.
Fortunately (!!) it broke immediately and I ordered another one (F.F. Group Easy-Load 128 Aluminum Tap & Go 2-Outlet Trimmer Head) which attached without an adapter and in a short test inside the garage it seems to perform well (i.e. without vibrations at first).A real-life test will be done soon.... with updates + photos.

I have had it for three years now and I have mainly good things to say.
The disadvantages of the electric one are given:
1) less power,
2) relatively limited autonomy due to the cable.For home/country house use, it is clearly more practical than a gasoline-powered one that costs five times as much since it does not require maintenance.
The advantages are
1) significantly lighter weight
2) ease of maintenance (it needs a little grease on the rotating head joint)
3) lower acquisition cost
4) almost zero operating cost.What matters is for the user to adapt to the cable.
Initially, it was difficult and strange for me... and annoying!
Then I found the following 'solution'.
A 50-meter extension cord on which a 3.5mm cable is attached.The trimmer attaches to this and personally, I have no overheating problem even after two hours of continuous work.
This way, one can cut a circle with a radius of 30 meters around the main extension cord before having to deal with the cable again.

Did you find this review helpful?After many experiments, I found that this particular grass trimmer can only work under specific conditions (short length and small diameter of the nylon string, cutting dry grass that does not have much resistance, using a 3x2.5mm cable, etc.). If these conditions are not met, it stops working every 5 minutes due to an overheating protection mechanism, and then it takes another 10 minutes to start again. I use it purely for amateur purposes in a 200m2 yard. I can say that with a head replacement (the original one broke in the first 10 minutes of operation) and very careful use, I can clean the garden relatively quickly.

However, the string ran out, and the head wouldn't open at all, so I decided to get a better one. With the new head, on the second use, it started malfunctioning after 5 minutes of use. After 2-3 attempts to restart it, the plastic protector on which the cutting blade of the string trimmer is supported broke. I bought a new one (20 euros), and on the third use, the plastic broke again, and it started malfunctioning once more. I didn't bother with it anymore, it ended up in the trash, and I bought a reputable one with the same amount of money I spent on this (purchase price + head + protector), as I should have done from the beginning.

I compare it to a Kawasaki 3 Hp gasoline-powered machine, which I am very satisfied with.
I bought the electric one with the logic of not dealing with oils, gasoline, starting difficulties, etc.
Compared to the excellent Kawasaki machine, it does not have the same power.
The trimmer line it takes is a maximum of 2.4mm, while the Kawasaki takes a much thicker one. If you put a 2.4mm trimmer line, the machine struggles, overheats, and shuts off, and then it doesn't move forward until it cools down.
If you put a thin trimmer line, it is not meant for cutting thick stems, for example.
The trimmer line it comes with is very thin. Coincidence? No. With a thicker one, the machine overheats and shuts off. I put a thicker trimmer line than what the instructions allow, and the result was that it shut off every 10 seconds and I had to wait half a minute for it to start again. I was impressed by what the thickness of the trimmer line can do.
I hit the wheel hard 5-6 times on a wire fence and on concrete, and it got small dents but didn't break. It seems to be made of softer steel than the Kawasaki wheel.
It is very inconvenient to drag a cable behind you. And annoying when the short cable of the trimmer comes out of the balancer because you have it on your back and you have to unhook the machine to reconnect it. Personally, I tie the plug to the balancer, but still, I am not satisfied.
The harness is uncomfortable, you simply hang it on your shoulder or cross it on your shoulders, but it is nothing compared to the harness that the Kawasaki has, which gives you excellent ease in suspending the machine (it was like a vest).
Also, the support of the harness on the machine is not balanced so that the machine can float when it is suspended on your shoulder. And if you move the support (it's a screw), the balance point falls where the handle is (you might say it's better for the handle to be balanced).FOR UP TO ONE ACRE AND NOT FOR THICK BRUSH OR WEEDS.

It's unthinkable to turn it on and have it turn off in a few seconds. It's a brand new machine.

One has to be a MacGyver to fix its malfunctions.
The problem that everyone encounters with the interruptions is due to a small stainless steel thermostat (about 5mm x 10mm) attached to the inside of the orange plastic cover. We remove this little thing and connect the two blue wires that come to it. We insulate them, as well as insulate any partially cut wires due to hasty study and assembly from the factory (there is no other explanation for the wear and tear of the wires I saw inside), and close the motor cover.
After that, it works normally, constantly, and it's good to stop after about 20 minutes because it heats up quite a bit, without causing any damage. Later, once it cools down, we can work again. The thermostat they have installed is obviously defective because it can't turn off the machine in a few seconds without even getting warm.
In the end, I kept the machine because, anyway, I can't buy another one.
We have a large family and we also have children with special needs.
If the company reads this comment, they should address the issue so that people don't suffer.
We have the pandemic, we have unemployment, and now we have lawnmowers... it's a shame!

I bought it because of the good reviews (I wonder about those) and because of the low price. The purchase was made 20 days ago on 28/7/2020 from an online store. It was received on 29/7, 19 days ago. Let's talk about the machine. We are talking about completely amateur use. For a garden in the village, at most 100 sq.m and a maximum of one and a half hours of use with breaks because due to age and average physical condition, I cannot do more. The first use was with a disc 10 days ago for the thick parts because the previous cut was done with another machine on May 15th and they had already grown. Total use with the disc was about an hour. No problem and it worked well. The next day, I put on the trimmer line. His own that is included. It worked well but in less than an hour, the black plastic underneath the orange guard broke. This is a big problem because this plastic is not decorative or an extension of the guard. It is important because the trimmer is attached to it and without it, the machine is useless. It is detachable and fake. I don't know the cost or if there is a replacement and how much it costs. Is it possible for it to break so easily with its own trimmer line on the first use? I wonder about another user below who says they used a "3.5 mm line". Firstly, it cannot accommodate such a thick trimmer line because it has grooves for 1.6 and 2.4, and secondly, the whole machine would have been destroyed. It is also unacceptable that the specifications do not mention which trimmer line to use. I had 5 square meters left, a small garden at the back of the house. I bought a trimmer line because the one I had was not enough. So today, 19 days after receiving it, I tried to put another 2 mm trimmer line because his own was finished. It was very difficult to open and especially to close the trimmer head. Others are detachable and very easy. This one is rotating and requires a lot of force. Eventually, with the help of a neighbor, I managed to put another trimmer line, which I cut myself at the edges so it doesn't stick out since there is no guard and it seems fake too. I put it on, tried to start it, and after a minute, it died. I thought maybe the fuse in the panel had tripped. But it hadn't. I try again, it starts and stops in seconds. I call the store. They give me the company's phone number. I call and the answering machine says they are closed until 21/8/2020. I call the store again and ask if the company has authorized service in Ioannina. From the answer, I understood that they don't. So I have to go to Ioannina to send it to Athens, which means 20 euros for fuel plus 15 euros for shipping and 15 euros for return shipping, a total of 50 euros, plus 2.5 hours wasted time and the frustration. That's 60% of the value of the machine. I don't know if it's worth fixing it by paying so much or if I should throw it away if there is no authorized service here. I have had it for 2 years and I cut about 1 acre of both grass and dry vegetation. I changed the head and put a fixed 4mm nylon line. Be careful not to fall into the trap and work with it for many hours. When it starts to heat up, it's good to take a break. Because the fixed head puts more strain on it, and because it doesn't get tired, we forget and continue, in my opinion, when it gets hot, we should stop for a while. Of course, until this happens, it has covered a lot of ground, the tool doesn't notice. But to keep our head calm, a little break doesn't hurt. Not to mention that I think it is one of the few electric tools that has such a handle as the gasoline ones. Update: I use it with the fixed head and it is really good. I would say that the only thing that hurts as a machine is the joint that breaks it in two for storage and transportation. I had to make my own joint from galvanized pipe that fits exactly in diameter and with a slit, where I adapted it to the entire length of the blade and tightened it with screws, it is further away from the existing one and has a stronger grip. In my first use, it turned off by itself after only 10 minutes and could only start again after a 45-minute wait, even though it had cooled down a bit for a little longer. Overall, it's a good machine in terms of the engine (at least for me), but with downgrades in the quality of the aluminum that greatly downgrade it.
