  I will be cautious in my rating for the following reason: It resembles too much at the opening Encre Noire, which I believe it has built upon. Later, it evolves into something different with an oriental character, I dare say. It is a nice fragrance, don't misunderstand the rating; opinions are always personal. It has good longevity, and two or three sprays are enough.

  Coming from not such a good experience with Pour Homme lion (there is a related review), I was convinced that I would face the same thing.. But no.. The god of perfumery had different plans for me..

  Revelation the equus.. A unique fragrance with a huge positive sign. Bright, spicy, quite aromatic, woody, green with an underlying delicate sweetness. For the most part, perfectly balanced. If it were a person and we looked at it intently, we would say it is of indeterminate age.. It resides a bit in the past, has a vacation home in the present, and occasionally visits the future. As if it completely owns space-time.

  It resembles no other, it reminds of nothing.

  It is not super multi-layered.. At the opening, the bright citrus.. The opening is quite aggressive and wild.. I wasn't blown away.. but the dry down is worth all the money.. After 10-15 minutes, cardamom and violet come in. The citrus never disappears. At the two-hour mark, the woods become noticeable, which then take center stage... It gives off a bit of the smell that pencil shavings have when we sharpen them, but the blend is such that the final result is amazing. Delicate, gentlemanly..

  It is a fragrance that does not ostentatiously announce its presence because it is made for the one whose every step creates roots that end at the core of the earth. For the one who needs no gimmicks.. He is the gentleman.. Sting captures this perfectly with the line "a gentleman will walk but never run.." So it is intended for this type of person..

  ⚠️ Attention: It is not for "naive" noses that have just entered the wonderland of fragrances.. It is not suitable as a first or second fragrance.. It will seem strange because it does not resemble anything available on the market.. So blind buy only for the initiated or for those of you who want to stand out and are tired of creed aventus clones - Sauvage, ambroxan bombs, super unisex sweeties... It is definitely an easier fragrance for those of you who have smelled and appreciated the encre Noir line because equus could be said to be a "distant" ancestor.. It carries a trace of that DNA.

  I was lucky because I found a tester of the old bottle with the indentation. Attention.. what is now sold is with the horse engraved with laser on the surface (they ruined it.. Unfortunately..). On the sites, they use the old photo but you will most likely receive the new bottle. Ask for clarifications..

  At this price (30€ - 35€ NOT above that) 4-star primarily for its uniqueness (that's not a small thing.. 90% of perfumes bring, remind of, are inspired by, or copy others).
