Reviews
You can easily and quickly make homemade ice cream that is just as tasty as store-bought! Easy to clean. I just wish the mixture would freeze more, but with a little time in the freezer, it turns out just the way we like it. I recommend making ice cream in an air-conditioned room during the summer months for better and faster results.
Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful? To have bought a machine worth 1000.00+ euros and a 100 euro accessory and for neither the drum nor the lid to fit properly is a problem. It makes nice ice cream (just like the old exclusive Philips ice cream maker I had) but you have to be on top and hold the drum. Once I dared to leave it alone and had it on a slightly faster speed (1.5) than usual and as soon as the ice cream started to freeze, everything came undone and the mixer broke. Unfortunately, this happened two years after the purchase, so I don't have a warranty. Instead of spending 100 euros on an accessory that goes in the freezer, I spent another 180 (280 in total) and ordered a 2-liter one with a compressor (it cools the ice cream on its own - it doesn't have an accessory that goes in the freezer)
Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful?Attention: A newer model, the KAX71.000WH, has been released, so check if it is compatible with your device and prefer it, as it appears to be improved. Here is the initial evaluation:
I have been overall very satisfied. However, the lid could have a better fastening to prevent it from moving. Also, the blades seem a bit fragile, I hope there is no durability issue.
I followed the instructions and left the bowl in the freezer for over 24 hours. I made a recipe I found online, which is quite similar to the one in the component's instruction book. The result exceeded my expectations. In 20 minutes, you have ice cream with the texture of a machine-made one. With 1-2 hours in the freezer, it reaches a standardized point. No trace of crystals. It comes out very creamy.
Update, November 2020: 9 months and many ice creams later, I notice that the bowl is not completely sealed - there is a small leakage of the liquid it has for freezing when it stays in the freezer for more than a day, as indicated in Kenwood's instructions. That's why it loses one star.
Update, September 2022: It continues to have the issue of liquid leakage inside the freezer, but functionally it doesn't seem to be affected.
Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful?Easy to use and wash. I would prefer if there was a larger capacity in the bowl, although I don't think companies make larger ones in general.
Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful?I received the ice cream maker last week. I had searched for ice cream recipes online and yesterday I made the first vanilla parfait ice cream. Amazing ice cream with a taste from the past. Very easy process and the mixture froze in 20 minutes (I didn't make the maximum quantity for starters, but it can really make 1 liter of ice cream).
The attachment fit perfectly on the KENWOOD CHEF mixer that I had bought 14 years ago!!! That's what quality of a company means.
Only the lid moves slightly during the movement of the beaters because it doesn't lock, it just sits on top. Also, when the mixture is ready, because it is frozen and tight, the bowl detaches from its base so you need to reattach it. However, once the ice cream is ready, you simply stop the mixer.Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful?Verified purchase
