  In order to insert a hard drive, because the method of closing the case lid is sliding, the disk must be placed at an angle, with the risk of bending the SATA cables. It also comes with two cushions in the packaging. One covers the thickness of thinner disks and one covers the length.
  To prevent the disk from rattling and moving inside, you need to use a little bit of everything, which doesn't stay where you want it....meaning that after a while, the disk will probably move inside....
  The silicone casing attracts dust and debris like a magnet...
  The SATA to USB cable and its connection seem good...
  The plastic covers are of mediocre to low quality...

  Very good case for the money, although it could be a bit cheaper (around €10). The quality of the plastic is quite good for its price and the hard drive fits properly inside. It comes with a rubber casing with extra reinforcement on the corners, as well as padding for the interior to prevent the hard drive from moving.

  I have purchased two of these HDD disks that I use for file storage and backup.

  It is a sleek and affordable case. It comes with a detachable thin rubber casing that "embraces" the case quite well, it is shaped at the corners to reduce impact force in case of a fall (within reasonable limits!) and it is non-slip. It has a discreet blue LED as a read/write indicator.

  I do not transport these disks, so I cannot have an opinion on durability or ease of transport, etc. Mine are located in a corner of the office and operate 24/7, downloading/transferring files and taking backups. This has been going on for about a year and a half without any issues.

  I tried it to install my old SSD (Samsung 850 Evo) and also to be able to clone from HDD to SSD so that I don't have to format and reinstall everything from scratch on my clients' computers. In the first test, it exceeded my expectations by 110%.

  Of course, it comes in a plastic packaging that requires careful handling, especially the locking tabs that secure the top and bottom parts. For 12 euros, if it lasts 2-3 years, it will be worth it. It also includes a self-adhesive pad with a sponge-like texture and a small clamp made of similar material to prevent the disk from moving inside the enclosure.

  I mainly recommend it to people who have an old internal disk (SSD/HDD) and want to use it as a second backup.

  For those interested in using it for disk cloning like me, I will provide an update on my evaluation in a month.
  Edit (13/1/2021) after cloning a 7-year-old 400+GB HDD to Samsung Evo 860 500GB: The transfer was seamless. The cloning process took several hours (10+) as the hard drive was quite worn out, from what I understood. So, this is also a use case that might help you if you want to make backups/clones and perform large data transfers.

  Excellent case mainly for one thing.... The ability to automatically close the disk when not in use and above all the smooth shut down of the disk when the power is cut off.... For example, I connect the case (with an internal hard disk installed) to the television and when I turn it off (TV), the disk shuts down smoothly, just like when we safely remove a USB from a PC and not abruptly...   In the year 2017, having had the product for over 3 years now, I declare myself completely satisfied.

  Positives:
  1. Build quality: Despite being plastic, its construction is sturdy. After 3 years and many times of opening it, it doesn't seem to have suffered any damage. I believe it will last many more years without causing any problems.
  2. Ease of installation: As I mentioned before, the build quality is very good, so you don't have to worry about breaking any plastic during installation. If you're not clumsy, there's no fear. Installing a disk takes 10 seconds if you're in a hurry. It's easy and fast.
  3. Protective rubber: It may not offer anything tremendous in terms of protecting the disk during operation, as the small dents it prevents are not the ones that would damage a disk. However, the fact that it provides security to the case itself and makes it durable over time without any signs of wear is important. Additionally, in a fall with the disk out of operation (e.g. during transportation), it will provide a high level of protection to the disk without opening the case and spilling the disk on the road like other cases do.
  4. USB 3.0 and electronic parts: Yes, you know it's USB 3.0 before you buy it. But it doesn't hurt to know that it works flawlessly, always giving the maximum performance to any disk you put in (even an SSD). This is important if you're thinking of getting an anonymous Chinese case. You'll save 5 euros, but the USB 3.0 won't work properly for unknown reasons, and you might end up crying over a disk sooner or later (a Chinese case rendered a 1TB disk useless out of nowhere -_-). The little board inside this case is of good quality.
  5. Beauty: It's simply beautiful and discreet. Without exaggerations in appearance, with its black color, you can have it for your gaming setup or take it with you to work. Without any logo on the top to draw attention, it's just modest, discreet, and beautiful.
  6. Connection cable: It's short, about 35-40 centimeters. But in my opinion, this is the most suitable length for a 2.5-inch external disk. Think about it: "Where will I use it?" The answer is on a laptop or temporarily on a desktop to transfer files. It doesn't need to have a 1-meter cable... you won't know what to do with the extra 60 centimeters in most cases.
  7. Price: Considering what it offers, I simply think it's cheap!

  Negatives:
  1. Rubber: It was also in the positives. Although it provides protection and it's nice that it exists, being a soft matte rubber, it attracts dust... it needs regular cleaning if you don't want it to look dirty.
  2. Cable connection to the case: It's not something tragic if you don't remove the cable from the case, but if you do it for ease of transportation, the rubber hinders you quite a bit and requires patience to make sure you've connected it correctly...
  3. Adhesive additions: The package included some adhesive additions so that if you want to install a thinner 2.5-inch disk, the remaining thickness can be eliminated and the disk won't move inside. Although this is positive, I consider it negative that they are adhesive... The first disk I installed was thin, so I stuck the addition and everything was perfect. But when I decided to put a thicker disk there, it turned into a mess. It wouldn't come off no matter what!! I learned my lesson though. We shouldn't open such stickers, we use them without sticking them! Anyway, they are already inside the box, they won't go anywhere if you don't stick them. But for those who have faced or are facing the same problem, remove whatever comes off with your hand and then carefully rub with clean gasoline. Do not use sharp tools such as a scraper, for example, as it will scratch the plastic of the case.

  In summary, the case is very honest for its price and if you overlook some minor flaws that slightly affect its functionality, it only has advantages. I bought it 3 years ago and since then I haven't looked for another case. No one will be dissatisfied.

  Update: After about 5 years, I decided that I needed another case. I decided to go for one with a USB 3.0 Type-C connection on the side of the case. I have to say that Type-C is so convenient.. You don't have to figure out how to plug it in, you just take the cable and snap it in! I ended up getting the rubber case from Icy Box and putting it around the new case. Icy Box is still amazing, but now without Type-C. If raid sonic has released the same model with Type-C and it is reasonably priced (at most +60% from this one), then I would recommend something like that. But I don't know if such a thing exists. Look for it.
