Compared to the equivalent Arko, Splendid (here we laugh) and the rest of the competition, it is certainly the best. I discovered that it ultimately requires a little more soap and patience than one would expect, to achieve the same texture as a shaving cream (In the end, it's even better than foam!)
The packaging alone saves you from buying an extra container for foam creation! Since it is a ready-made cup on its own!
The scent is not something otherworldly! However, it is basic / all-time classic, which will surely awaken memories for those who saw your older relatives shaving with potatoes and brushes.So, for a first product, for a complete beginner, it is ideal from every perspective! The first contact with the soap is love.
An aroma with thousands of emotions.
After the first shave, you will easily look for it as an air freshener for your room, office, car, etc.
The choice of fragrance is always subjective, but between us, it is also a very important criterion for purchasing shaving products.
Easy, dense, quick, and shiny lather, with a boar brush (omega 80067) in its own bowl (a bit small, but okay).
Here comes the first (small) problem:
You will need to search a bit more for the water balance in the brush.
However, you will find good application with the brush and face lathering.
And somewhere there comes the second problem:
It dries very easily. I don't know if it's because of the bathroom heater, but within 2 minutes after application, it has dried and you can see it first around the lips (cracking).
In 3-4 minutes, if you haven't shaved and for some reason you move... Snowflakes everywhere... The dry soap will follow you with flakes wherever you go.
You can feel this drying during the shave, with many areas not gliding well.
Here comes the third and final problem:
It cannot be "reactivated" with a little water. It's not a tallow soap, but I expected it to do something with a few drops of water. Nothing, and it's a shame.
For the same reason, the final result after rinsing is dry and you feel a slight "pulling".
For the overall result, I would give it 3 stars, but:

The Proraso Sandalwood Shaving Soap has usage instructions in many languages. And of course, in English. But not in Greek.
I use the Proraso Sandalwood Shaving Soap with a cheap, relatively, boar bristle brush. The Omega 11574. My relevant review is available on skroutz.
Due to the natural hardness of boar bristle brushes, they are more suitable for hard shaving soaps. They melt shaving soaps faster and easier.
When I use shaving foam for tough beards from Noxzema, I use the synthetic brush: Omega Hi - Brush Fiber Black 0196712. My relevant review for this brush is available on skroutz.
The Proraso Sandalwood Shaving Soap leaves a greasiness after shaving. And rinsing it off is a bit of a hassle. For me, being brown-skinned and having very oily skin, this is a serious drawback.
The entire sink becomes a mess, dirty from the lathers of the Proraso Sandalwood Shaving Soap. It is simply unacceptable to have to clean the sink every time you shave. And to get your hands so dirty.
The process of applying and creating the soap is cumbersome and time-consuming. Additionally, I am forced to dirty my hands with lathers. Something I do not like at all.
While with Noxzema shaving foam for tough beards, I shave cleanly, quickly, with surgical precision in spreading the foam on my face. And I have an excellent shave.
Clearly, I would not buy the Proraso Sandalwood Shaving Soap again. It did not suit my oily face at all.
For me, the Proraso Sandalwood Shaving Soap is essentially a waste of money. Because I had the brilliant idea to buy 2 boxes of it. I ended up giving one to my sister. To take care of her legs. But she also found it greasy, as she told me.
The Proraso Sandalwood Shaving Soap is clearly an inferior product compared to Noxzema shaving foams. Buy Noxzema shaving foam and you will remember me. Your shave will be elevated!

In conclusion, I recommend Proraso Sandalwood Shaving Soap only to fans of traditional soap shaving. If you don't belong to that group and prefer more modern solutions, buy shaving foam or gel. It will be much cheaper and will do the job perfectly.
