They helped me a lot in the Athens marathon, as you can take one every 45 minutes or so (depending on various factors the time) very easily with a little water. In my opinion, they are much preferable to the corresponding candy-type ones, which sometimes your mouth is quite dry to dissolve them, while they also take up very little space for transport.
I use them along with gels on long runs, they seem quite effective and it helps that they are capsules as you can swallow them even without water during the run. They are worth the money because you feel that after 2-3 km you really stay hydrated, you don't have the feeling that you're running out of energy and fluids, and I think in combination with a good gel you will definitely see a difference.. It might also help on long runs (e.g. 20+ km) to take one at the start of the run. I will definitely buy them again.
I have no previous experience with electrolytes to compare, I just got them for the gym during the heatwaves and I am satisfied. I immediately feel the difference in terms of hydration and I feel that everything becomes easier! I take one with each workout.
Update: This is the third box I am ordering, everything is good, I still recommend it but as you will see in the photos I uploaded, it does not contain vitamin D unlike the photos on Skroutz.
I bought it because it is the only one without carbohydrates, but it does an okay job. With 3 capsules, it definitely helps, but their price is unaffordable.
It's a bit early to give an opinion, but the issue is important, so if I don't do it now, I will forget and won't deal with it later. I have a big problem with cramps, mainly in my quadriceps when running after 18-20 km and on the bike when I have distances of 100+ km uphill. I am 1.82 meters tall and weigh 96-102 kilograms depending on the period. Yesterday, I did my last 30 km run for my marathon preparation. For the first time, I felt discomfort in my knee while running after 25 km, and I say this for good reason. Usually, on long distances at these kilometers, I had so many cramps that I felt knee discomfort after running because I felt exhaustion and cramps. With these capsules, I went to feel a pseudo-cramp in my left calf that never came. It says to take one every half hour, but due to my volume and size, I took one every 3.3 km. Approximately every 22 minutes. Anyone who is like me or something similar should know that this is the solution.
Excellent product. I have been using it for at least 6 years with intense mountain running training and in races of 20-50 kilometers. Without sugar or sweeteners, as an electrolyte should be.
The electrolytes, as they should be. Without taste, sugar, sweeteners, and calories. I made the mistake and bought effervescent electrolyte tablets from Lanes... sugar, sweeteners, and 100 calories per capsule, hahaha! Never again. Only saltsticks. Again and again. I use them either by swallowing them, accompanied by water afterwards (necessary), or by dissolving a capsule in my water bottle, for running long distances and crossfit.
