I got it for home use, thinking it would meet my needs. I was wrong. Easy installation, but that's about it.
The POE adapter with a 25m cat6 cable probably doesn't meet the power requirements of the AP because when I set it to high transmit (or auto) power, it struggled and reset.
In terms of bandwidth, in the same room without interference, it reached a maximum of 100-120Mbps on the 5GHz band. At 4 meters and 2 walls in between, it ranged between 15-50Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. At 6 meters and beyond, with an external wall, there was no signal. The ax3600 with Chinese firmware that I have covers as much space as three of these in a row, and where the ubiquiti reached 10-50, the Chinese one reaches 400+ (iperf3).
You can only adopt the AP to one controller, and that controller can only be on one device. So you can only control the AP from one point. If you're troubleshooting between the controller on a desktop computer and the AP in another room, be prepared for a lot of walking.
From my experience, this device is meant for open spaces and multiple devices with low bandwidth each. Offices, stores, etc. Not for home use. The rating is based on home use.
The numbers I mention are actual performance, not nominal (iperf3 on a server with Ethernet using an edgerouter X erx), and the channels are obviously the least occupied.

Did you find this review helpful?I bought the Unifi AP AC Lite to use in combination with a Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X ER-X in a 90 sqm space with relatively thick walls. It replaced a Speedport Plus. I am completely satisfied with the Edgerouter, as it has eliminated any device connectivity issues and provides flawless internet distribution.
However, I can't say the same for the Unifi AP AC Lite. Its range is slightly better than the Speedport, especially for mobile phones. The 5 GHz signal doesn't really reach beyond 2-3 meters, and even in a room a few meters away, I sometimes have a mediocre signal with only 3 bars. I think for a 90 sqm space, 2 Lite units are needed.
If someone has a small space up to 50-60 sqm, thin walls, or the ability to install 2 Lite units with wiring to the router, then this device is a good choice. However, if someone wants to cover a space of 70-100 sqm with just one AP, it might be better to invest a little more for the Unifi AP AC LR.
UPDATE 21-7
I ended up buying the AP AC LR hoping for better signal on the 5 GHz band. However, I didn't see any difference in either the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz bands. So, I am upgrading the Lite to 5 stars for my own use. It has slightly better range than the Speedport Plus (I did a better comparison and there is a difference), significantly better stability, and is cheaper than the LR.

1. You will need to install the controller software to be able to manage it on a PC/server. Unfortunately, I don't have Windows, but with a little effort, I installed it on RHEL.
2. To make the AP work, you need to auto discover/adopt it, and to do that, you need to disable the firewall.
3. It can work in standalone mode through a mobile device, but it has very limited configuration options, so it's better to use the controller.
4. It has a very strange way of setting different SSIDs for 5.8 and 2.4 GHz.
Other than that, it seems stable. I have switched all my devices to 5G, luckily they all have the capability (I have over 20 Wi-Fi devices) except for the Sonoff plugs, and they work perfectly.Translated from Greek ·- Operational stability

Did you find this review helpful?Having tired of the shortcomings of small, cheap, and widely known Access Points, I decided to try something a little more expensive but much higher quality for my home. This particular one can be considered nothing less than an Access Point capable of professional use. It will provide absolute speed and stability at home. I will never have to restart it. Nor will I ever have to deal with it. It simply works everywhere and always.
The only sacrifice you will have to make is that access to the admin console is mandatory through a computer (you cannot press an IP from your tablet/mobile and log in because it requires a PC/laptop to first run the server emulator to give you access, etc.).
The initial setup and configuration you would like to do is not difficult for someone who knows/understands some basic things, but on the other hand, I wouldn't say it's for beginners.
As for capabilities, I don't know if it makes sense to enumerate them. It covers extreme cases in terms of networking, let alone the "basics" (Dual Band, Wi-Fi scheduling, MAC filtering, Guest access, Hotspot, Signal strength, etc.). The PPoE is very convenient, meaning it doesn't need a separate power supply and works only with the LAN cable.
The futuristic design with its soft lighting means you won't need to "hide" it in a corner and you can easily have it in a visible spot.
Highly recommended for experts and beginners who have a friend who can help them set it up (because they will never need it again).

Just to give you an idea of the range, I used 3 devices at a distance of 70 meters from end to end (8 rows of classrooms). Very easy installation, the controller directly recognizes and automatically sets up each new device (adopt). The most positive aspect is the zero lag when switching from one AP to another. I highly recommend it, even for home use.

Smaller than the AP UAP, the basic one that I have and also in the store for customers. The setup is easy if you are a user of UBIQUITI or experienced with networking products. Stable and very fast. Its range inside the house (100 sqm) is excellent as it seems to have good reception even with 2 walls in between. It has more customization compared to what I have in the store and a better way to be placed on the ceiling or wall. Some may encounter a problem installing the controller with the port 8080. The reason I chose it is because of its dual band support (2.4 & 5 GHz) as well as the ability to be powered through the UTP cable (Power-over-Ethernet). With most devices now supporting 5 GHz, the problem of interference that exists at 2.4 GHz is solved. PoE makes it easy to place it in the optimal location, as only the network cable is needed and there is no need to place it near a power outlet or use an extension cord for power. This makes it very easy to improve the coverage of the space compared to the traditional wireless router that usually needs to be near the telephone outlet. Even if the space is very large, you can use more than one, and with the provided software, you can manage them all from one management environment.
