Description

The SP series lenses have technologically revolutionized to achieve superior optical performance, including functionality, ease of use, and a smart, natural design, in order to highlight the capabilities of advanced camera systems that offer high pixel density.

A standard 35mm lens, slightly tilted at a wide angle, with built-in VC (Vibration Compensation), provides a minimum object distance (MOD) of 0.2m. This lens achieves excellent image performance with a fully open aperture and remarkable representational capability.

Innovative and Unique Standard Lenses with Fast F/1.8 Aperture.

Modern design and engineering technology, supported by manufacturing expertise, culminate in revolutionary 35mm lenses.

Closer Than Ever

Get closer to subjects with the new Tamron lenses. The MOD (Minimum Object Distance) specification allows photographers to capture at close distances, opening up a new world of creative opportunities for composition, while maintaining image quality at its best.

Vibration Compensation in a Standard Lens

Although an image stabilization system is unusual in a standard lens, Tamron's VC system is crucial in the SP series. The smaller pixel diameter of high pixel density cameras has led to research on lens requirements, and the VC system has proven its ability to maximize camera performance.

High-Performance Functions Behind Every Design Aesthetic

Our attention to every detail of engineering has resulted in the most advanced optical and electromechanical design that characterizes the new Tamron SP series, setting a new standard for high performance and optical elegance.

The basis of our design philosophy is human touch, combining soft lines that are pleasant to the touch and easy to use. The switches are larger and reshaped for smoother torque, and the typography has been redesigned for intuitive readability.

This review is about the mount: Nikon F

    The positives
+ Sharpness: the lens has fantastic sharpness, even at 1.8 it is good. It is probably the sharpest lens I have
+ Minimum focus distance: Focuses at a really impressive short distance, almost like a macro lens
    + Weather sealing, subtle stabilization

    Negatives
    - Does not have good auto focus. Especially at 1.8 and especially when using it with live view, it is very unreliable and slow, with terrible hunting. From the viewfinder and not in continuous focus mode, things improve quite a bit. But unfortunately it is noticeably the worst focus I have on a lens. It is not completely unusable, especially in narrower apertures. Okay, you can do your job with a few more out of focus photos. It is not silent but not annoyingly noisy, it could be better in this area. For video with built-in microphone, it doesn't work.

    Other comments
The weight and size are okay, around 450 grams. Full price seems expensive, like all 35mm lenses basically, but at the 400 euros I got it second hand, I do not regret it
