Description

Forgiveness is a virtue that benefits not only the physical and mental health of the individual who possesses it but also improves cooperative and cohabitation relationships among people. It is obvious that everyone easily understands the value of forgiveness, but it is difficult to apply it in their life. Thus, forgiveness lessons were created to initiate students from a young age into the concept of this virtue and its benefits, so that they can later utilize and apply it more easily in circumstances of rejection, bullying, and injustice they will face in their lives. Anger in the school community is considered a major problem in schools worldwide. This program is an alternative and innovative approach to anger management, addressing students' aggressive behavior, group rejection, anxiety, depression, school bullying, "victimization," and loneliness that many students experience both within the school environment and outside. Research over the last 25 years has shown that the "Practice of Forgiveness" in schools promotes students' emotional health and improves their academic progress. Educators who implemented the program observed that students who participated in it reduced the anger they felt, boosted their self-esteem, increased cooperation among themselves, and improved in their studies. The educators themselves believe they became better teachers and professors and that their classes functioned better as a result of education in forgiveness.
