Very good and practical construction for quality filter coffee. It leaves a small amount of coffee residue in the cup, but that is expected for this method of coffee preparation.
Wonderful coffee, without any sediment, with a full taste of real French coffee. It is so small, yet it does its job wonderfully. The filter mesh is very dense and fits perfectly on the glass carafe, not a single grain passes through. Reading some reviews, I was afraid that there would be sediment, but that doesn't happen at all, and I admit that I am picky when it comes to coffee.
I would like to help by mentioning the steps I take, which are also stated on the Venus box, and with a little practice, they become very easy. I heat water in the kettle and before it boils, which is crucial, I close it. I put one or two spoons of coffee in the coffee maker, depending on the cups I want, and slowly pour the hot water on top in a circular motion to create a dense foam, up to 2.5 centimeters below the rim. This dosage is for 2 cups, for one I reduce the coffee and water accordingly. I leave the coffee maker like this, without the filter, for 3-4 minutes so that the coffee is infused with the hot water. Then I place the filter on top and slowly press the plunger down. There is no need to press the plunger too hard to the bottom. The coffee has been brewed. Without removing the filter, I serve the coffee in the cup, there are indentations on the filter. I add sugar or milk as desired. I make tea in the same way by replacing the coffee with finely chopped tea leaves, not tea bags.
The process takes about 5-6 minutes, but it is worth it. It doesn't require much pressure, after all, French coffee needs its time for us to enjoy its taste and aroma. For this specific small and convenient coffee maker, I use regular coffee that can be found in supermarket packages. I am very satisfied with the product, excellent price, and I will definitely buy it again if needed. I am considering giving it as a gift to friends.
value for money purchase. It does not transfer coffee residues to the cup, and the capacity is at least satisfactory (2.5 - 3 cups of coffee at a time).
Good construction, the glass is quite durable, not so much to protect from falls but it doesn't break from going from cold to hot. The filter is quite satisfactory.
I have been using the coffee maker for almost 6 months.
So far, absolutely no problems.
The filter is very good, but clearly it does not filter as well as the machine. This means that there is a minimal residue left in the cup, which is negligible for me personally.
Considering its price and performance, I think it is very good.
Just be careful when it is hot, sometimes the glass part detaches from the plastic and there is a risk of it coming off and breaking.
I have bought the same one three times because my cats keep knocking it down and breaking it. For me, it is the best value for money, so now I order two to have a spare. I prefer it infinitely as a result compared to filter coffee machines, it leaves a little sediment but it also depends on the grind of the coffee. Easy to clean, convenient, fast, economical, reliable.
Individual coffee maker, decent, the only thing that bothers me is that it remains stuck and after filtering the coffee into your cup, in order to remove the coffee, I have to lift the filter a bit to make room for the coffee
It broke twice due to heat. The first time, they replaced it for me at the store, and I thought it was defective, but ultimately it just couldn't withstand high temperatures, which makes it useless
Normally the value of this product is worth more, being incredibly cheap. Since in a well-known supermarket chain it costs just under 3.50 euros. Very sturdy construction, I have had it for about 4 years and it works perfectly. It makes AMAZING French coffee, it just requires careful handling (difference between hot and cold liquids, pouring... etc)
Very good, nice glass, the plastic it has didn't protect it from falling, but I bought the same one again, on the spot. The filtering is satisfactory, it leaves sediment in the cup even if I let the coffee "soak" for 3-4 minutes. Personally, it doesn't bother me. I don't know if other manual coffee makers filter better. One of the negatives, which I consider applies generally to coffee makers of this type, is that you have to serve it immediately because it doesn't retain the temperature of the coffee.
I ordered a manual coffee maker after asking if it filters properly. The person was very polite and assured me that it filters like a paper filter. Well, not even close to the result of a regular filter. The very fine grind passes through normally. Although the coffee is drinkable, I bought it for another reason. The glass easily breaks if it slips from your hand. The design reminds me of something less than a typical Greek coffee cup. That's it. I have no complaints about the speed and order updates. I give the stars for the politeness and the fact that the other product was perfect.
Very good choice, especially for those of us who need a small quantity of coffee and cannot wait for the coffee maker. The only negative thing is that sometimes a few coffee grounds pass through the filter wire.
