The photo does it injustice, I believe. It is more sturdy but a bit oversized, especially for a newborn. It will last a long time if the baby cooperates.
I place it in our bathtub from 3.5 months old to keep the baby safe from falling, for example.
On the negative side, it requires a lot of water to fill and it doesn't have a plug to drain.
