Description

1960s, Epirus. The life of Antonis Kokkinos is marked by a wild storm that breaks out on the day of his birth in the middle of a field. Before he feels the caress of his weakened mother, the first drops that fall on his naked, bloody little body bind him to them forever. From that moment on, fate turns its back on him. His early years in the village are marked by contempt and problems that are not fitting for a child. Circumstances force him at the age of fifteen to emigrate to America with one goal: to become rich. He soon realizes that working hard and under miserable conditions, his dream of making money will remain a dream. His acquaintance with a very wealthy but much older woman will bring him into the high society of New York. From then on, his life changes. For better or worse? Tony Red now has no connection to his innocent past. Circumstances turn him into a ruthless man, without feelings, mercy, or love for anyone. The only common point with that pure Greek boy he left behind is one thing: Every time it rains, he likes to get soaked, feeling thus the caress of the mother he never knew.
