Fortunately, it has batteries inside. If you need to change them, it requires great care to do it correctly and not break the cover. Do it with VERY GENTLE movements, do not pull in a direction that does not pull easily. Other than that, it’s just fine.
It does exactly what it promises, a reading light, more than enough in the dark, illuminating the entire book, after you focus it correctly. It is neither a lamp nor a flashlight. Lightweight, it does not add weight to heavier books. The clip inside has a soft material so as not to damage the book. Maybe the LED should have warmer light, but I didn't find it annoying. Now, the quality of construction and durability over time will be revealed, it is a light, and these are generally treated as consumables.
-With a cost of 7 euros, even though it is branded, it is satisfactory.
-It weighs 36g, so I consider it unlikely to break if it falls, although it hasn't fallen for me.
-It illuminates up to a distance of 4 meters according to the manufacturer, but I see satisfactory lighting for reading small letters up to about 40cm. So, apart from books, it can be used elsewhere, for example, in bed, as it has a clip.
-The only drawback is the short lifespan of the 2 batteries (CR2032), so it would be good for the user to have a stock so as not to leave the reading halfway. The manufacturer provides 26 hours, but they are cheap. So I consider that the product is not for systematic use (hence the "book" in its name) but for temporary situations (camping, reading a book, etc.). I bought it for a book, so it suits me, given the low prices.
-It has ERC, UK CA, and CE certifications.
-It rotates 360 degrees in all directions.
For its price, it is exactly what it should be and does its job. Don't expect it to emit a blinding light. It simply does what it's intended for. It's great for comfortably reading a book in complete darkness or illuminating, for example, your computer keyboard. Be careful with drops, as when it falls, the plastic cover that houses the switch and the light opens up and you have to reassemble it. Every time it has fallen for me, this particular system has opened up. Luckily, it still functions afterwards. On the positive side, the flexible arm is a plus.
Undoubtedly the best small flashlight I have ever used. It has this flexibility that allows you to point it wherever you want. Satisfactory light mainly for reading and for small tasks that require a little extra light. Don't expect to buy a very powerful flashlight. It would be bad for the eyes anyway. It is exactly what you need and more at a low price, as it also has a Varta battery, which in my opinion is a top battery company. Nice for a low-value gift too!
