We have a Sony camcorder at home that has a built-in memory card that charges and transfers data with this specific cable. The camera worked without any problems since I had a suspicion that Sony would have done something sneaky to make you buy their much more expensive cable, but no problem.

If the cable wasn't so thick, I would give it 4-5 stars.. at least it is flexible... I bought it for my dashcam and it does its job...
