    Really USB 3. It has read speeds of about 150mb/s using a Hitachi Travelstar@7200rpm when other similar enclosures only gave me about 45mb/s. They advertise USB 3 when in reality it is only USB 2. I recommend it without reservation. I use it as an external disk for Ubuntu boot and it works perfectly.

    The purchase was made without any particular reason, I just once bought a StoreJet 2.5 for IDE drives (which still works today, at least a decade later) and I thought it would be fun to have two of the same.

    When I received it, I was surprised to find out that it is not USB 3.0 but USB 3.1. I also noticed that the dimensions of the new one are the same as the old IDE version. So similar that I can use the old USB 3.1 and the new IDE.

    The plastic materials seem to be of the same quality as the old ones, which have survived many years of use. The aluminum frame, although in dimensions and thickness is identical, appears to be slightly lighter and has a brushed texture (the old one had a glossy finish).

    Also, the old one came with a USB cable for data, a second USB cable for 5V power, anti-vibration adhesive pads, a short Phillips screwdriver, and if I remember correctly, a protective carrying case made of PU-leather.

    The new one only had one (good, flexible, durable, and high-quality) USB cable and a printed SPAM from transcend with information about their products.

    For 12€, it's great!

    On Transcend's website, there is an application for file synchronization between the computer and the enclosure, as well as for data protection with encryption in the enclosure

    Very good build quality. It came to me with USB 3.1.
    Note that it does not include any tool for disk installation, so you will need a small screwdriver.
