  Minus one star for the digital display. It is only visible in daylight. Especially for someone with presbyopia, it is impossible to distinguish anything on the screen if it is indoors.
  The reception is much worse than the GW-5000U-1ER that I also have. Not that it doesn't catch, but much more difficult.
  The sensors were a pleasant surprise, I covered it once and for the rest of the journey, it barely lost 5-10 meters in altitude.
  A bit uncomfortable, mainly because of the metal keeper that pulls out hairs, but you get used to it.
  The most positive thing, if you like such watches, is its appearance. Truly beautiful.

  And now a little ugly truth...
  It was an object of desire and yes, it looks very nice.
  But....
  It has a BIG disadvantage and that is the screen!
  The digital one. You can't see anything! Or you see something very faint that you can barely read!
  Forget the photos you see on the internet! They are all taken with "appropriate" lighting and at the "appropriate" angle and from the "appropriate" distance!
  In hand and from a distance of 30-50 centimeters, meaning in everyday life (most of the time) you can hardly see anything! Or nothing at all.....
  And no, I am not exaggerating, look at the photos and ask other users!
  Almost always you have to struggle to find an angle(!) or turn on a light to see the display!!!
  We're not talking if you're over 45 and your vision has "dropped" a bit!
  So functions like 2nd hour, altimeter, stopwatch, barometer, countdown become VERY difficult, maybe even impossible.....
  If it makes your life difficult, all the nice features are WASTED!!!
  Unfortunately, I couldn't find it in a store in Greece to try it. I ordered it from abroad and discovered this on my own.

  Be careful not to compare it (in terms of screen) with the 2000! There things are much better!!
  Not good! Just better compared to the 1000.
  Find side-by-side photos and you will understand.
  I just don't like the 2000 at all. It's my personal opinion, tastes vary.

  --Reception....
  In comparison with an older model I have (PRW-1500) it is very poor!!!
  While they are next to each other, the PRW-1500 receives while this one often does not.....
  And unfortunately, it does NOT have a reception indicator on the screen that you can see at a glance, like many other models and the PRW-1500 of course.
  You have to press the button 10 times(!) to go to the reception menu and there guess what happens....
  You have to find suitable lighting or angle to see if it actually received a signal.

  --Measurements....
  Its measurements are INDICATIVE and in no case should you trust it for survival!
  That's how all CASIOs are. I had a hope that it would have improved but nothing has changed!
  Constant calibration and ......... constantly wrong readings!!!!

  Personally, I miss the moon phases that I was used to. As well as sunrise-sunset times that other models have and without Bluetooth to catch up with some. Its price demands these features.

  On the wrist, it is not the No.1 comfortable, but anyone who chooses such a large watch knows this and has to wear it!

  The light is just not bad! However, if you compare it with other models from the same company, we will see that it could be much better! At this price, I want a lot!

  Conclusion....
  As a tool, IT IS NOT WORTH IT!
  Much cheaper models at €100 do a better job!
  However, it has a reputation and "name" and is worth it as a status symbol among enthusiasts.
  Reliability I still don't know. I consider and hope(!) that it will be a "beast" like all the CASIOs I have.
  I will return if something happens (knock on wood!!!)

  This is my opinion and I apologize if I upset you.
  Feel free to challenge it if you want and look into it yourself.
  But since no one told me, I thought it might interest someone!

  Ok ...
  It's not cheap at all, but in the end, you get what you pay for.
  Its specs are incredible, it does everything it promises and more.
  Its size is large, but personally, it hasn't bothered me at all.
  Durable.
  I have several watches and some G-Shocks, but this one is at the top because it is the toughest and most complete.
  I wear it comfortably even on walks.
  When I wear another watch, at least at first, I feel like something is missing.

  I purchased the gwg1000 1AER on 14/4/20 from a Greek store due to the difficulty with customs during this period and because there are many "fake" products circulating in international markets.
  The price has dropped to more reasonable levels compared to the amount of money you had to spend about 2 years ago.
  Excellent watch! Comfortable, sturdy, with solar charging, rugged, very beautiful on the wrist and to the eye.
  Its dimensions are not much larger than a gwg 100 1AER that I also have, but I believe it fits better on wrists with a circumference over 18 cm.
  The analog indications are clear, but the negative digital display makes it quite difficult to read in low-light environments.
  The night illumination is quite good, while the luminescent feature is very good with long duration.
  Excellent barometer and compass.
  The altimeter needs frequent calibration with a known altitude value of the area via Google Earth or another altimeter, as it measures through the atmospheric pressure sensor it has and is therefore susceptible to errors (affected by changes in the barometric field).
  Radio-controlled, but with some difficulty in urban environments during nighttime hours. It requires good weather and an open environment.
  It is preferable to manually update it rather than automatically during nighttime hours to avoid wasting energy due to failed connection attempts.
  The watch can receive the signal and be adjusted at any time of the day regardless of the conditions and environment through the "Junghans" application for Android mobile phones with great success.
  One of the best Casio watches I have. I would easily recommend it to anyone who has the money to buy it and wants to get a tool of this type.
