Did you find this review helpful?Purchased for a 32" smart Tesla 32t320shs TV, and despite the fact that I contacted the company's support by sending the model of the TV and then a photo of the original remote control, and they uploaded the appropriate code for it, unfortunately only the power on works with this specific TV.
Trying to see if the control was the issue, I set the code for the TCL 50C725 that I have and the remote worked perfectly.
Minus one star from me because although it is supposed to be compatible and there is a corresponding code for a certain TV, in reality, it is not. Maybe a matter of luck.

Starting with the packaging, it looks like a premium product. The connection is super easy: You insert batteries, download the Freedom app from here https://superior-electronics.com/en/products/remote-controls/consumer/freedom-usb-type-c/, install it, and follow the on-screen instructions - connect the controller to the computer (a relevant cable is provided) and select - from the right - brand, model > choose which position you want to install the update (TV, SAT, DVD, or AUX) > double click > Click to install from the left column at the bottom left and you are ready!
Points to note: You must disconnect it from the computer for it to work with your device. If it is not recognized immediately by the computer, check if the TYPE C is properly connected to the controller; it needs to fit well, all the way in!
The controller, although large, is lightweight and very sleek. If you can't find your TV model, check the code that may be on your old remote! I connected an old LG Smart TV that wasn't on the list, but the code was from the controller! I also connected an old Logitech z-5450 sound system, and even though the Cosmote Android TV BOX (SKYWORTH HY4415) wasn't on the list, I made the relevant setting through the TV BOX, which syncs with the TV, and essentially, I don't need the BOX remote. Nevertheless, I emailed the company to see if they can include it, as the truth is that I would simply save a few extra "clicks" if it exists - I can control the TV BOX "purely" from the remote.
Additionally, the list of supported devices is endless! And there are still brands that are not widely known, while it is constantly being enriched. It is noted that the Logitech z-5450 was added at my request. I expect the same for the TV BOX!
In conclusion, it is a purchase you won't regret. The money is very little for what this product offers. In other words, it is a VFM choice for those who want a remote to control multiple devices.

Its positives are that it is easily programmed with the software and theoretically compatible with the factory one and not an exact replica. In my case, the model did not exist (FU FL32050 TV) and they added it to the database within an hour. They added the model because the button code matches many TVs. However, the function of multiple commands with the SHIFT button makes it inconvenient to use. Especially when it comes to basic functions that are on a separate button in the factory remote. In my case, the SUBTITLE button requires pressing SHIFT and SUB. Good luck trying to turn off the subtitles of DIGEA that are automatically activated when the TV is turned on (FL32050). Otherwise, it is quite large, much lighter than the factory one, the switches feel somewhat strange, somewhat fake construction. Wrong purchase because essentially I bought it to easily disable the subtitles. They could have offered the ability for the user to change the layout through the software, but they didn't... Three stars because it definitely covers the cases of those who do not have the factory remote control. But only up to that point.

Note: One very positive thing is that the package includes a Micro-USB to USB cable, so the only thing you will need to buy extra if you don't have is x2 AAA batteries, which you need to have inserted in the remote control before connecting it to a computer or laptop for its setup.

I sent an email to the manufacturer company BEFORE buying the controller, to ask if there is a setup for my TV (a Toshiba that didn't work with any other generic). They replied in 10 minutes, saying that they uploaded the code for the PC software, through which the controller is set up. I bought it and set it up via PC in 2 minutes... I couldn't make it work with another one I have, a TATUNG. It worked perfectly with the classic previous generation LCD LG. If it had a larger memory, meaning for 5-10 remote controls, I would eliminate the rest.

I emailed them the devices, but they couldn't find them. They asked me for a photo of the remote controls, but still couldn't find them. As a last resort, they asked me to mail them the original remote controls so they could try to program them themselves and then send them back to me, which is impossible since I don't have spare remote controls.

I was really excited, I had rated it with 5 stars, but now I'm changing my rating because after two years, one button broke, but guess which one? The red one, the one that turns on your device! Gradually, it required more and more force to press in order to work, until it became completely useless in two years. Even though all the other buttons are okay, I had to have another remote just for the on-off function of the device...
INITIAL REVIEW
First of all, it stands out due to the quality of the materials used in its construction. Compared to classic remote controls, it looks like a "Mercedes": it is sturdy with good quality plastics, the buttons have a good tactile feel and are not cramped. Especially the navigation buttons are metallic, with a perfect touch sensation and visual luxury. Although once you get used to it, it's not a problem, it could definitely have a better layout for some of its buttons, but I imagine the need for compatibility with hundreds of devices limited the possibilities. In terms of basic operation (on/off, channel change, volume adjustment, and mute), it is perfect, but the info & EPG, Exit & Back, and Shift buttons should be in more convenient positions. Especially managing media from a USB stick is inconvenient because it requires the use of the Shift button, which is located at the top, and the play/pause/<<>> buttons are far away, at the bottom.The size will only bother those who are used to "tiny" remote controls, like those of cheap decoders. Take a look at the photo I uploaded (it's the one on the left): it is smaller than my living room TV (2nd photo) and not excessively larger than my TV and decoder (3rd and 4th photos respectively), which I replaced with the Superior, not only because they were problematic but also because it is inconvenient to have two remotes on the nightstand (one to turn on/off the TV and one to control the decoder).
The setup is not based on communication with your old remote control (which is a lifesaver if you have lost it or if it is completely broken), but with the help of a computer. It was done in just two minutes: 1) installation of the application on the PC, 2) connecting the remote control via the provided USB cable, 3) sequentially selecting models for the 4 buttons (TV, SAT, DVD, & AUX) (you can assign any of these to any of the 4 buttons, from stereos to projectors), and... it's ready! So, depending on the device you want to control, you press the corresponding pairing button from the 4 mentioned above. The cherry on top: the synchronization program provides you with a photo-diagram PDF mapping the functions of your old remote control to the Superior.
But where it's worth every penny is the certainty that it will be compatible with your devices, no matter how old or rare they are, even with minor incompatibilities in secondary buttons/functions (it is logical and expected that not all buttons and functions of your original remote control will be 100% matched among the hundreds in the support list). The certainty lies in the fact that either you will find your device in the company's extensive database, or you can send them an email and they will add your device to the list for you to update in a few hours.
