With use on a safety razor, it only provides a close shave on the second pass, you feel it pulling hairs. Nice sensation and safe, especially if you are a beginner like me and it's your first one, it doesn't butcher you and you start shaving easily with a safety razor. After a while and once you learn how to use it, you change the blades as you become more skilled! Essentially, it's good for beginners.
Update: on a Qshave 700 (a clone of the Merkur Futur 700) at positions 3.5 and 4.5, it gave me the ultimate shave! Deep shaving without irritation or cuts. Almost perfect combination!

Average blade, doesn't slip, although it may be my fault for not putting some oil underneath, as some shaving gurus with a straight razor show.

It is quite good, but very expensive.
There are several comparable ones, but also the Feather that gives me more shaves.
