Action camera at an extremely low price (As much as a burger + a drink) with good capabilities similar to a Go Pro except for image and sound. The camera is waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof. The video quality is average, but its purpose is to capture the subject, with the image being secondary in my opinion.
Initially, a friend of mine got it and we tested it under the SUV in mud, snow, rain, and even dropped it from a two-story rooftop. We also attached it to a remote-controlled car and set it on fire with alcohol because we wanted to destroy it, but only the casing burned and it still works as far as I know.
As I mentioned before, the image quality is not great and the sound is not even worth discussing, but it captures the subject just fine. It does not have a wide-angle lens or accessories for the head or waist. For the money my friend got it from eBay (7€), it is good overall. The camera is an imitation of the SJ4000, which is an imitation of the GoPro, and its actual name is unknown. Also, I would like to add that you get what you pay for. For comments about it being the worst camera in history for 10€, what did you expect to get? If you search on eBay, you can find it for 6€!!!!
I recommend it for someone who simply wants to shoot videos without caring about the 400€+ action camera quality or image, and without having to spend an entire salary just to record a bike ride. The image is worse than a 10-year-old mobile phone, but it gets the job done.
I bought it through Scroutz and I will definitely make the most of it.
UPDATE 23/3/2021: I received it today, and it comes with some accessories inside, but without the straps for the waist or head as I mentioned. The image is better in VGA and has a better frame rate. The photos are average but relatively clear, meaning it captures the subject with decent colors. Be careful when opening the casing, as you need to open it in the opposite direction of what the arrow indicates. I broke mine with a screwdriver and now I have ordered a new one. A MicroSD of 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB is recommended, as anything more can cause issues with the image and the camera may freeze, at least in my case. Personally, I use a simple 2GB SanDisk.
The microphone on the side of the camera needs larger holes to capture sound better.
The camera's MENU does not come out as the MANUAL says. You simply press the MODE button in front (once, and then again to switch to a different view/preview), go to the image, sound, video (PLAYER for what you have recorded), and continuously press the OK button there.
In the image preview, press and hold OK for options like Format, Lock, etc. In the video preview, press and hold OK for settings like date, etc. And in the audio recording or preview, press and hold OK to access a different MENU. So, as you can understand, we go to the preview for the main MENU, and changing the preview also changes the MENU page.
To select the image or video resolution, go to the recording mode and press and hold OK to choose the resolution. Press OK to save the settings, and then press the Mode button to exit (applies to both the camera's main MENU and basic MENU)
Personally, I bought it because I needed the underwater case, which is great. It came in an open package. The bags were resealed with a stapler, and the battery was already installed in the camera (contrary to the description of the contents in the package). However, nothing was missing. It comes with many useful accessories. The camera is of very poor quality. The battery lasts only a few seconds and then the camera shuts down. The video it captures looks like it's from a different decade. It is definitely not 140 degrees, nor in widescreen aspect ratio. Full HD (1920x1080) at 15fps is unacceptable for an action camera. The case and accessories are very good for the price. If you want it for the camera, it's better to look for something better.
I bought it only for the accessories, which are of good quality. Especially the underwater case, it seems more sturdy than the eken one that I replaced because it broke.
I was pleasantly surprised.
If you need accessories for your action cam, they will cost you more than €10 from this package. I didn't even bother with the camera. I will be surprised if it works.
However, I keep it aside in case I need to replace the body of the eken at some point. Especially when I saw the battery, I burst out laughing. It's an empty plastic casing, and the weirdest thing is that it was already attached to the camera inside the box. It was worth the money just for the laughs.
Seriously though, feel free to buy it only for the accessories.
I wonder how someone expects results with a €10 camera.
EKEN is a clone of sjcam, which is a clone of the first gopro. Anything else (let's say a well-known brand) is a clone of eken or sjcam. This one here is a clone of a clone of a clone. You don't even need to see it up close to understand it, the price says it all.
I use it on the camera and it does its job! Night shots only in very well-lit places, with moderate or poor lighting, nothing!
Cheap, so great value for money. Suitable for many uses. Motorcycle, car, water sports... I bought it for about €10
The worst action camera in history doesn't even shoot in 1080p, and the 720p it has is like using a camera from 1995
Let's start with the Video. In no case is the video 1080p. If you shoot in 1080, when you play it back, you will see that the image has a delay compared to the sound. The same happens with 720p but with a smaller delay.
Regarding the photo quality. It claims to be 12MP but it's barely 5. It takes blurry photos and overall I wouldn't recommend it. Anyone who wants to get an action camera, I believe the minimum they should spend is 50€!!!
If you want to have it, for example, for mountain biking on routes with bumps like me, it will tremble a lot.
But for its price, I did not expect it to be so good and so easy to handle
First of all, it is not HD and the resolution is at least tragic underwater because it constantly stops recording and then starts again. The image is good, but it is difficult to watch a complete video due to the constant pauses it makes. But if you think about the money I paid (22€), what else should I have expected? I recommend giving an extra 20-30€ and getting something more reliable
For the money, I can say it's worth it. 19 euros and 3 euros for shipping. Of course, the package I received did not include a charger or a memory card, only a small USB cable of 10cm. The photo resolution reaches 5MP while the video has a resolution of 1080P. Let's not forget that this is a simple amateur camera. It comes with 2-3 strange mounts for a bicycle and a selfie stick, a slightly thicker strap than a finger for the head, and also the package includes 2 small thin straps with Velcro (the so-called scratch scratch) which (with a little imagination) can be adjusted to stabilize the camera directly on the head. A strap specifically for placing the camera directly on the head without using a helmet can only be found with a separate purchase. Also, please note that it does not support WIFI connection
The camera is not worth being on the market, plain and simple. Even if they give it to you for free, don't accept it, you will be forced without reason. I will take 5-10 underwater photos just to "justify" it.
Wow! Probably the best camera I have ever seen in the whole world and I believe that for those who have a limited budget, it would be perfect to buy!
I bought it during the summer and I have to say the following:
- It produces mediocre underwater footage (under ideal sea and weather conditions, imagine the VGA resolution that mobile phones used to have!).
- It hardly produces anything outside the water.
- The field of view is 70 degrees... not 170.
I made the mistake of buying it and I do not recommend it under any circumstances!!! The one I bought two weeks ago and is really worth its money is the ELEPHONE 4K ACTION CAM, it has amazing capabilities (I believe it's on par with the GO PRO), many accessories included in the package, and a very good price (if you search for it).
