At first, I was disappointed until I realized that you just need to find the right ratio, temperature, etc. I’m not crazy about plain espresso, so the opinion I express concerns the double Americano version: it doesn’t create a crema, of course, since the Americano usually doesn’t because of the large amount of water added anyway. The metallic taste bothered me the first two times, and I wanted to give up. Fortunately, it goes away. I recommend a good cleaning without soap and low heat on the stove. I use ground coffee for a briki from coffee berry / island, and the result is excellent.

Excellent little pot for home espresso, without crema. I recommend getting spare rubber gaskets as they darken over time and need replacement. I highly recommend it for enthusiasts of traditional Italian coffee.

First time trying a Moka pot.. it makes nice espresso, yes without crema or without bringing out the full flavor and aroma profile like a professional espresso machine/grinder would. However, you drink a proper coffee full of body and intensity. For €25 you have a decent solution if you want to drink espresso at home.. by far a better choice than capsules.. and a result that surpasses even some cafes outside that charge you 3+ euros for watery/burnt coffee. I also have a Delonghi Dedica espresso machine with all the accessories (single filter basket, scale, tamper, etc.) and it has been set aside for now.. too much effort for questionable results while with the Moka pot I just put in coffee and know that in 3 minutes I will drink something proper. It’s no coincidence that it’s found in every household in Italy.

Cool little espresso maker, the coffee gets a bit too thick and strong to my liking, that's why I dilute it with hot water to make Americano. The quality is very nice, it looks like it will last a lifetime.

The Bialetti Moka 3 cups was purchased 2.5 months ago mainly for economic reasons.. first of all, it came in nice packaging and the pot has a corresponding appearance.. it's beautiful, that is.. the capacity of 3 cups is very satisfactory, at least equivalent to a double shot of espresso.. the coffee preparation takes a few minutes.. personally, since I drink cold coffee, I put the coffee in the fridge or freezer to avoid too much ice and therefore dilution of the coffee.. although most have been mentioned, I will state a few tips a bit more concisely:
1) initially put warm or hot water in the pot
2) do not press the coffee in the holder (as we see being done in cafes), just spread it evenly (from other comments, I saw that it is preferable for the coffee to be coarser than those found in supermarkets, personally I have no opinion)
3) use a gas stove on low flame and not a kitchen burner
4) screw the pot tightly to avoid any leaks
5) wash the pot only with tap water (no detergent)
6) if someone wants, they can also get the rubber gaskets that are suggested in case there is or arises any leak in the future (to save double shipping costs).. I did it but the pot had no problem

Although I have bought and used the coffee pot for 6 cups in the past, which is great, this particular one has a leak where the top and bottom parts screw together. Even though the store immediately replaced it with a new one, the second one has the same issue. Maybe slightly less than the first one.

The best I have tried. Do not expect coffee like in Espresso or Nespresso machines. However, the one it makes is very good. If you are going to buy it, get the replacement rubber seals as well. Initially, it had some leaks but by changing the one it came with, they stopped.

Excellent for what it does. Some things to avoid misunderstandings.
1) Comparison with an espresso machine:
The coffee it produces should not be confused with espresso. Espresso requires 9 bar pressure. This pot develops pressure of 1 to 2 bars (about 1.5). At 3 bars, the safety valve opens. This results in a different coffee taste and minimal (or no) crema during serving (although new models with a special valve that increases pressure and temperature for more crema have been released, as they claim, without my personal experience). Therefore, if someone thinks that with such a low cost they will achieve crema similar to espresso machines, they are looking at the wrong product. However, some varieties create more crema (dark roasted).
Also, when we put the coffee in the special container, we DO NOT press it with pressure like we do with machines. It should be evenly spread and 'fluffy'. Again, as the manufacturer suggests.
The size of the coffee beans plays a role.
2) Temperature
Here, a little caution and patience are needed because if it goes slightly off, the whole extraction is ruined. It requires low temperature. I do it on a gas stove to be sure. Low heat, very low heat (patience!), to keep the pressure stable at low levels. On high heat, it will burn the water so much that at the end of the process, the coffee will be burnt. Very gentle from the beginning to have a steady flow-pressure. Very, very important.
Some suggest pouring hot water into the container because it reduces the time it takes to make the coffee. It's true. There is no difference in quality. However, even the water needs some time to heat up. So it's one or the other in terms of total time. Unless someone has a kettle.
Important: when the coffee comes out, before serving, give it a good stir while it's in the pot with a spoon, and then pour it into a cup.
3) Cleaning
According to the manufacturer, it only needs hot water and nothing else. Any soaps are prohibited as they will negatively affect the material. Only in case of mineral deposits, soda, lemon, vinegar are allowed, according to the method indicated on the official website.
After washing, immediately wipe it with a cloth and let it dry well before assembly. This way, we avoid any oxidation or salt stains.
*For those wondering about health issues due to aluminum, opinions differ here. Studies say it is below 1%, at acceptable levels (!). And that the use of soaps increases it (less than 4%). Everyone investigates it at their own responsibility and judges. I do not take a position.
In general, Bialetti pots have a different philosophy that requires a little work to learn, but the result is quite interesting.

First of all, let me say that I am new to this sport. The first two days I made coffee with the briki using KIMBO NAPOLI with the indication that it is suitable for briki. I made two good coffees, but guys, let's not get crazy, it's not freddo espresso, it's a nice coffee but it doesn't resemble freddo at all. The next coffee I have purchased is LAVAZZA ROSSA, which is also for briki. If this one is better and reminds me of freddo espresso, I will update the comment I made. The briki, as a construction, deserves 5 stars

I don't have experience with this specific product, so my review will be about the coffee I made. The briki has a capacity of 4 cups. I used Dimello Gusto Espresso Dark roast coffee, the purple one, with a coffee capacity of 20g and the amount of coffee that came out was 96g. Compared to the espresso machine I have, the coffee came out much stronger!!! I used gas and not a stove. I put hot water in the briki and in a few minutes it was ready, unfortunately I didn't time it. TIP: hot water in the container and low heat for brewing.
Day 2. I put cold water directly and placed it on the gas. It was ready in 4 minutes. Be careful because the briki gets hot!!!
One negative point is that I would like a slightly bigger handle.

Good quality and practical industrial design. It makes very good coffee in just 4 minutes on low heat, as long as the coffee you use is of good quality and not dirt. The handle on the lid started spinning like crazy after a week. There was a problem with the screw. It was probably a one-off issue. I easily replaced the screw and it's fine now. Don't worry if the bottom darkens internally or if it gets cloudy externally.
I have another one from 1984 that was given to me and it's like new. Truly an indestructible device.

Well some instructions for use. First, rub it with the soft side of the sponge and plain water. Fill it with water up to the mark, run it through a cycle, throw away the water and also the first 2 coffees, use some cheap coffee, this is to remove the metals from the taste. Drink the next coffee normally. Rinse only with water, nothing else, make sure all the grains of metal residues are removed. Put coffee without pressing it, tap it a few times to make it fall straight and if there is excess, level it with a knife or finger without pressure. Room temperature water, not hot. Start the fire on high and reduce to medium to strong, and when it starts to produce coffee, lower it a couple of degrees until it finishes. It requires medium fine coffee, usually the supermarket one is very finely ground, experiment.
It makes very strong coffee, not espresso, but it is close in taste for the average palate. I always make it Americano because I like it that way more. Good little coffees.
VERY IMPORTANT: if the gasket breaks, you can buy new ones from Bialetti for 3-4 euros, do not buy a new one! Also, the 3 cups makes very strong coffee for 1 person and requires a large amount of coffee. I would recommend if you are one person to get the 2 cups, and if you usually make coffee for 2 people to get the 3 cups. Because you can't just put less coffee in it, you always have to fill it
