The best for its money!
Small and lightweight for easy transportation.
The pads are thick and very sensitive.
The knobs look okay, time will tell.
No need for drivers, it's plug and play at least on the Windows 10 I have.
Ideal for beginners in beat making like myself, I think.
I've had it for 2 days and I've been playing with it and haven't found anything negative.
I highly recommend it.

Good evening! I bought this specific model from Akai in August 2019 and as a newcomer in the music production field, I am extremely satisfied with this model. Its construction is very good. The pads are quite sensitive, although they don't respond well to light hits. Overall, it came in EXCELLENT CONDITION!!!! For someone who is a beginner and is just starting to get into music production, I highly recommend it without a second thought. In a few words, it is worth the money and more!!!!
Mine came out excellent from the box, even though there are many reviews on the internet about problems with the pads. I have to say it lacks sensitivity in weak hits, but for the price it asks for, it is superb. I gave it 4 stars based on the absolute measure of comparison in drumpads.
The fact that the pads are thick doesn't mean anything since they are also hard. It's a stupid marketing move by Akai that unfortunately worked... The previous mpd18 had much better feeling pads but they didn't trigger correctly. At least the 218 ones work perfectly.
If it was cheaper, I would give it 5 stars but not at this price....
More useful are 2 LPD8 (without aftertouch and not endless knobs) but they are decent for their price.
Update: Apparently, some models have pads of different quality, so it's a matter of luck which one you'll get....
Simply perfect, it doesn't lose anything from the more expensive models! Very high-quality construction and at a very good price
