In the past, people spoke of "pansexualism" and railed against "moral degeneration" and "sexual licentiousness"... Fortunately, this moralistic rhetoric has now passed. Where it appears today, it seems like a caricature and is automatically classified as a relic of the quaintness of another era.
However, the culture of sex is everywhere in the public space. It does not tend to shape new morals (as in the 1960s), it has already shaped them. And it now installs within us a new way of understanding the self and consciousness. In the last two decades, technology and the compression of space and time in our lives make these shifts seem more radical than before…
Within such a framework, how does a Christian conscience position itself? Where does it find its vital space and how easily does it meet with others? How can it achieve God's commandments? And as a Church, what message can we articulate in the modern world, a world that places sexuality at the core of its self-understanding?...
