Description

Zinc is an integral part of insulin, the hormone used for the treatment of diabetes, and is essential for all protein syntheses in the body. In cases of increased physical or mental demands on the body, there may be a greater need for zinc or greater loss of zinc from the body, considering that fiber-rich foods hinder the absorption of zinc from food.

One-fifth of the zinc stored in the body is concentrated in the skin. Additionally, zinc helps in tissue regeneration and participates in some of the enzymatic reactions necessary for the normal functioning of the skin's sebaceous glands. It directly affects many organic systems such as the nervous, immune, and reproductive systems. It also maintains the proper functioning of senses such as taste and smell. 


Usage: 1 tablet per day. 

This product is recommended for short-term use to cover zinc deficiency in a short period. Zinc should only be taken with the consent of a doctor. Some patients may experience mild digestive disturbances, such as nausea, when taking zinc on an empty stomach. If something similar occurs, then avoid taking zinc on an empty stomach. 


Additionally, long-term zinc intake may lead to anemia.

Store in a cool and dry environment and protect from light.

    Here we have citric zinc, which is one of the generally good forms of zinc when it comes to absorption. What are other good forms? In English, for easier search, zinc orotate, zinc picolinate, zinc bisglycinate, zinc acetate. On the other hand, there is zinc sulfide and zinc oxide, two inorganic forms with low absorption. In many multivitamins, you will see the latter (oxide) being used, and this is because it is a cheap version, but it is questionable what we absorb from it.

    It provides 25mg of pure zinc per tablet, which is good for short and medium-term use - consider that we get an average of around 8-10mg from a typical diet. I don't know if I would use the 25mg for long-term use (i.e., over six months, maybe even over three months). In high concentrations, zinc becomes toxic to us (as naturally do most things). Taking it with intermittent breaks (every other day, or one week yes, one week no) is a safe practice with most formulations.
