It's worth its money. It has good gameplay, a nice fight system with impressive moves, and it has some very realistic elements like food, water, and refueling the vehicle, etc. I didn't really understand the storyline, where all these guys who look somewhat like orcs came from and why you find yourself in the desert, but I wasn't reading the dialogues carefully because they appeared with large texts that disappeared quickly and I didn't have time to read them. It's also very positive that when you lose, the game doesn't leave you too far behind. Then, the controls were annoying because they are very difficult to use, it's annoying that you can only climb in specific points while when there was a small rock or any low point in front of you, you couldn't pass over it, the map, although it had so many different markers, didn't explain to you many things that you have to go and what you have to do, meaning that many times in order to do the regular story missions, which had a green color sign, you had to do some other missions to be able to progress and I accidentally, I mean by going here and there and after killing some people, unlocked the ability to do the regular missions.
I was hoping that this game would come out at some point, it's awesome, its combos remind me of Batman. If they hadn't taken down the server for a trophy that prevents you from getting platinum, it would be better, but the game remains solid
Very nice environment and atmosphere, cinematic action scenes, enjoyable car and driving experience, you truly live the moment of a burnt world, the world of MAD MAX!
Very good game!!! Someone who is a fan of movies will love it!!! Of course, as an open world, it has its repetitiveness, but except for rdr2, all open world games have it!!! I don't understand why they criticized it in the reviews... The game is quite beautiful in terms of graphics, gameplay, and of course, it's worth the money it's being played at the moment!!! Anyone interested in a game with a lot of action, a lot of exploration, and will keep them entertained for two or three weeks should give this game a chance!!!
I think it was given before on Playstation Plus and coincidentally I decided to try it with great reservation. The game was amazing.
Max is a tough character, Chumbucket is very funny. A game that is 6 years old and has an atmosphere that current games don't have at all. Very nice graphics, which at first don't impress, but later you appreciate the work that has been done on the environments, which are many. Vast expanses with different environments from area to area. Raw combat based on the Batman Arkham Knight system. Great variety of vehicles and every upgrade (exhaust, suspension, etc.) plays a role. As for the sound, the depiction of different engine sounds (V6, V8, etc.) is very good and, although it doesn't have music, it has various sounds that give you the feeling of an empty and vast map, of loneliness and the fact that the world has been destroyed. And in terms of duration, having done almost everything, you can count on 60 hours.
At its price, it is the best one can have to enjoy an open-world game with looting farming. The final boss, Scrotus, seemed easy to me and the ending is not something special, but the whole game, the journey as a whole, is worth it. I did everything on the map as a real trophy hunter, except for the death runs, which I find boring (one of them must be story-related). I won't trade it or sell it. I finished it and I keep it as a collection. It has become one of my favorites.
At 10 euros and released in 2016, there is no better option. It surpasses 2020 games in terms of graphics and storyline. Simply put, if you like open world games, get it.
Obviously, all those who gave a rating do not know the movies on which it is based. The game has good graphics, it is very close to the movies' storyline, and it has enormous gameplay. It's something like GTA in a post-apocalyptic world. Surely it has many tasks to do, but isn't the purpose of a game to keep you entertained for hours? Especially at this price, it is very fair and will give you countless hours of gameplay.
I have had it for 3 years and I never finished it. When I first tried it, it seemed decent to me, but I abandoned it and played it again after about 1.5 years because I had nothing else to play and hadn't finished it, so I decided to play it again. Then I abandoned it again, but I had played it for more hours than the first time. So I played it again a few months ago. The game takes place in a time where everything has become a desert, food and water are scarce, and there are minimal chances of survival. The protagonist is Max, who has lost his family and tries to survive and seek revenge on Scrotus. I won't say anything else due to spoilers, but I would recommend watching the movie first because Mad Max is more well-known as a film series.
Story - The story, for me, is relatively mediocre to good, although it has many good things and some bad things.
Gameplay - The gameplay is very good, although with some negatives. Firstly, the combat system is excellent, if somewhat similar to the one in the Batman Arkham games, but it felt much more realistic to me. Secondly, the driving with the car was good, but it bothered me in some parts. And thirdly, the enemies are very easy for me, although not all of them, but most of them are easy.
Overall, I don't have much to say, although the game has a lot of things to explore and as an open-world action game, it is excellent. It is a bit repetitive and gets boring after about 6-7 hours, but overall, it has more positive elements than negative ones.
It is a game that will excite you for the first 2-3 hours.
It is a copy of many other games, the combat system reminds me of Batman, it is both long and pointless. Repetitive to the point of nausea... I wanted to turn off the console because I was bored.
Sometimes I pay attention to the trophies, which often start at 78% after completing the first mission and end up at 16% as you progress towards the end.
This deviation means something, that many players abandoned it halfway and didn't want to finish it at all.
It created this feeling for me too, but when I engage with a game, I want to finish it at all costs.
* I bought it for 7.99€ from the store.
** The sound sometimes glitches, you walk and your footsteps can't be heard, while normally there are details in many things in the environment. I also happened to throw punches and not hear the hits, while hearing the enemies' groans when I hit them.
All the big open-world games with many side missions become a bit boring after a while. In this one, I didn't feel that way, even though it has many repetitive elements. Despite many missions not being very significant, it manages to keep you engaged until the end. It's a shame it went unnoticed. Now that you can find it almost for free, go for it and enjoy it. Good gameplay.
Classic game where the same battle/driving/survival mechanisms are repeated over and over again, gradually becoming more difficult, similar to farcry, assassins, logic open world. Very basic story, you have to want to notice the "psychological changes" that supposedly gradually shape Max. Aesthetics are more of the same, the same dull colors, the same macho vibe, the one and only woman is busty with red nails in a world where they don't have water to drink. Overall, it is a game that mainly targets a male audience worldwide, little story to keep you engaged, plenty of battles, endless driving, cars, achievements, collectibles, the hunchback, the bosses are the same with different colors as if you're playing mortal kombat again, 2 boobs in the loss and in the gain, a hint of emotion. One of those games that you don't have to think too much about. It's very good for its genre, but a masterpiece? Definitely not.
At 10 euros, it is very worth it. Not more. Personally, it kept me entertained for 2-3 hours and then I started getting bored. For those who like post-apocalyptic games + cars + a good combat system, give it a chance.
Are you guys on drugs? It's a great game.. I finished it and I can say the best things about it. The only thing that I didn't like is that the missions are somewhat repetitive.
The watermelon is rubbish apart from the post-apocalyptic environment, the game is mediocre to bad. Basically, not much serious work was done because with such a scenario and background, they could have released a great game. However, when all the bosses are almost the same, it feels like you're seeing repetition over and over again. They sit on a chair with a baseball bat in hand and throw fire from various pipes on the track. The same thing over and over again... It kept me entertained for an hour and then I closed it because I got bored. Instead of putting in a strong mission, since Mad Max has a lot of potential and many things they could have done, they made a very indifferent game with similar and identical copy-paste missions. I saw a mess, in other words, with not very good controls. The only thing I liked was driving around in the desert with the car. It's a shame because it could have been really good, but the company probably didn't care much to perfect it and they rushed to release it just to make some money due to the brand name. For 5 euros, it's okay, it's not worth a euro more. I got it for free from ps plus, so I didn't lose anything. Just one hour of my life.
One of the best games I have played, apart from FPS, one of the best open world games with many advantages. It won't torture you to complete missions, it provides simplicity, you know where you're going in the game as it easily becomes understandable what you need to do. Great graphics, insane driving in the imperfection of the desert, epic jumps in... chaos with the car, and... a lot of fighting. I'm glad I bought it!
A very underrated game in my opinion, which didn't sell as much as it should have and was ignored by many people. Firstly, the game takes place in a post-apocalyptic scenario where the player controls Max, a survivor who is trying to survive and regain what he lost... I won't say more for spoiler and story reasons, but I will say a few words about the game in general. Firstly, the graphics are beautiful and have a unique filter that suits the atmosphere of the game perfectly. The gameplay is also very well-crafted, with well-developed mechanics for vehicles and equipment used. Let's move on to the combat of the game... the combat is a heavier form of the Arkham-verse combat system and achieves its own way with a more cathartic, slow, and violent approach than in Batman. The story is not anything special as it is about 4-5 hours with repetitive missions. The essence of the game is in exploration in my opinion, and that's where I spent most of my time because it proved to be very entertaining and worthwhile.
Mad Max was released in 2015 by Warner Bros. and developed by Avalanche Studios, responsible for the well-known Just Cause series. Personally, I believe that Mad Max does not offer a complete experience and for that reason, I would never recommend it, neither at the price of €60 nor at €20. In more detail:
- Story: This game takes place in a post-apocalyptic reality where most, if not all, of the Earth's natural resources have been depleted, making goods like water and clean food almost impossible to find. People now organize themselves into tribes and nomads in order to survive, while natural births become increasingly rare. The law of the strongest prevails, particularly for those who possess the most oil. Additionally, people now collect materials and remnants from the previous world to modify and build their cars, which are the only means, at least in the game, to traverse the vast deserts. The protagonist is Max, who has lost his family and only possesses a photograph of them and his very fast car, which is violently stolen from him by the warlord of the region. Thus, Max embarks on a dangerous journey of revenge, where he will encounter allies who will help him regain what he has lost. Initially, Max as a protagonist is distant both from the events of the game and from the player themselves, who never manages, at least in personal experience, to connect or sympathize with him. The result is that every mission in the campaign becomes a chore, as do most of the side quests, which can be summarized as the basic plan of "go there and bring this back." Furthermore, the duration of the story is short, around five to six hours, which does not bode well for the current situation, as the game's plot ends without the player realizing when it even began. Finally, the secondary characters, those who help Max in his mission, are boring and lack substance. Max encounters them very few times and they simply serve as a means to advance the story.
- Gameplay: In terms of gameplay, the game "takes the lead." Firstly, the combat system is flawless both inside and outside the car. Inside the vehicle, Max can use everything from a carbine and grappling hook to makeshift rockets to destroy enemy cars. Outside the vehicle, the combat system is almost identical to that of the Batman: Arkham Series, only more violent, as the player feels every grip, punch, stab, and bullet thrown by Max. Secondly, the sound is simple and minimalistic, dominated mainly by the sound of exhaust and the silence of the deserts. Thirdly, the open-world provided by Mad Max is filled with post-apocalyptic elements as well as loot, which contains scraps for upgrades for both Max and his car, as well as photographs that testify to what happened before the great destruction. Finally, the side missions are rudimentary and boring, without offering remarkable moments or delving into the world of Max or the main story.
In conclusion, Mad Max disappoints and leaves the player with an unquenched thirst. A poor story and tedious quests harm the game, while the occasional highlights of gameplay are not enough to support the title.
A beautiful little toy at a good price. I consider it worth it as something different. Plenty of wood throughout. The only negative that forces me to give it four stars instead of five is the routine in the missions.
Very good gameplay..Flawless graphics and nice story!! Epic battles with a lot of interest in handling!! However, missions become very repetitive and boring after a certain point! For the money it is sold today, it is worth it and more, but I would recommend not paying much attention to the side quests and focusing on the main missions. Otherwise, the game will tire you out
It's a great game. With amazing graphics and over 50 hours of gameplay. Beautiful cars and original missions. For its price, it's like stealing from a church!!!
Excellent game and well-made from the controls to the story, but once you finish it, there isn't much to do except for the few side quests it includes. Otherwise, flawless!!
I have played for 20 hours so far and the game started to get tiresome and repetitive. I don't regret spending the 15 euros because I had fun so far and I will try to finish it. The downside is that you can't ignore most of the side missions (which are mostly tedious) because they give you items and scraps that you will need to progress. The story is nothing special, it's a typical American theme and it barely touches on the last Mad Max movie. However, the world is amazing, faithful to the movie with incredible graphics. The sound and music are good, the gameplay is solid, the combat system is a copy of Batman, and the AI of the enemies is surprisingly good (I didn't expect it). But Mad Max's biggest weapon is the car battles, as well as the customization options that allow you to build them as you want. At the current price, it is definitely worth it and more. Rating: 7.5/10
As an idea, it is good, as an implementation it is mediocre, the world is vast and immediately gives you an understanding of the scenario prevailing in the world of Mad Max, the battles resemble Batman and the driving is satisfactory, but the good things end there. It puts you through many pointless things that interrupt the action, filling water, carrying gasoline for the car, repairing the car, collecting loot, doing upgrades (which are also expensive), and in the end it becomes tiresome. For its price, it is good, but only up to a certain point
Very good game with many hours of gameplay and great ideas.
The biggest downside of the game is the repetition in side quests and the really short main story!
Those who enjoy the Action-adventure games of the Warner Bros series will also enjoy Mad Max, although it is not as good as Shadow of Mordor or Batman.
The game has many elements similar to other Warner games (Shadow of Mordor, Batman), it just has a different setting like the movie. At first, it impresses you because of the post-apocalyptic setting, the many upgrades for both Max and your car, many different enemies, extreme weather phenomena, and plenty of side quests. However, after a while, it becomes boring. You do the same things over and over again and it loses its initial magic. Obviously, the fact that there was never any DLC released plays a negative role. It has some glitches sometimes and even though it reminds you of the movie, the story is quite uninteresting. If you are a big fan of cars, battles, and don't get bored easily, then you will enjoy it. If you want something else to keep you hooked besides the initial excitement, you won't find it. You will finish it mechanically without wanting to explore much after a certain point. Whether someone will enjoy it or not is purely subjective.
I have had the game for 1 week. For fans of the Mad Max movies and post-apocalyptic settings, it's great. Open world, with many missions and side stories. You also have the option to choose and customize several cars as you like. You can also customize the character, from clothes to accessories, which you unlock gradually. The positives: amazing graphics, nice atmosphere, dynamic weather (sandstorms and storms), great battles with cars and close quarters combat (like Batman), and the option to add filters, logos, etc. to create screenshots or videos. The negatives: the character's movement could be better for a game of the PS4 in 2015, but it's a minor detail. It lacks stealth kills, occasional frame rate dips, and unfortunately, they haven't announced any DLC. I gave it 3 stars because it could easily be improved with some DLC.
