The ultimate NAS for home users as well as small businesses for personal Cloud and Back-up server.
Basically, what someone needs to pay attention to is that this particular NAS is not suitable for users who do not have basic computer knowledge, as it does not come ready to use out of the box like the corresponding My Home Cloud from Western Digital. The user will need to do the initial setup for all or whichever "services" they want to activate. I didn't want to put in the question "Is it easy to install - so-so or not" because it doesn't deserve it if you think about how it is not intended for beginner users.
What I really like is the RAID options it offers; it has the capability for RAID 0/1/5/10, JBOD, and Spanning. Specifically, because I use it for personal Cloud instead of Google Drive, I have set it to Spanning.
The other thing I really like is the ease of managing both files and users. Specifically, you can set a limit on how much space each user can use. That is, you can have 6 users and have installed 12TB and set three of them to have 3TB, and the other three to have 1TB each. As for the mobile/tablet app, it is very good, and you can manage all files and all types. You can also choose which folders to share among users and third parties.
You can monitor the status of the disks, so if a disk is about to "fail," you can see it or it will notify you (if you have installed the utilities). This way, you can prevent disaster and transfer files early.
It can also work with Aggregation Link for 2Gbps speed. This means it can read and write very quickly without users getting stuck when they want to access it via the internet simultaneously. However, one must be careful as this depends on the disks, the modem/router, and the connection speed. That is, if the hard drives have a speed of 5400 RPM, the modem/router does not support Aggregation Link, and the connection is ADSL 24, then it will lag. I have four WD Red Pro 7200rpm 128MB buffer, Cosmote VDSL 100, and the Asus RT AC88U, so I have no speed issues.
In terms of stability, it is flawless. It hasn't frozen in the three months I've had it; I haven't restarted it. Only once when WD released a firmware update.
