After getting tired of battery-powered machines that would get clogged and their performance would drop after twenty minutes, etc., I listened to the advice of a friend who is a barber and chose this particular brand. I ended up with this machine, which I have been using for about 10 months now, with about one haircut per month, quite short. Coming from a battery-powered machine, the difference is like day and night. The length of the cord is 2 meters, so there is no distance issue, and I know that no matter how long I use it, I will have the same performance and power in the haircut. Its combs are very good, they have a metal base so that they fit properly and do not bend, while the lever on the side for shorter haircuts and fades is very useful if the comb doesn't cover you. Personally, I have attempted a fade once on someone else and it turned out very decent (with practice, you can definitely do incredibly detailed fades). The cable has strong protection against strange angles and pulls, so it seems durable. Generally, I have found that you should hold it from its base, as if held from the top where the motor is, the vibrations are quite strong and then your hand trembles for about an hour. It doesn't get clogged anywhere, it produces a very decent result, and it has definitely paid off its price so far. Remember to apply oil after each use and clean it with the brush, as this will help it last for many years. Some negatives that I could think of are that the top part with the blades does not open, so a thorough cleaning of the blades is impossible (there is a chance it can only be done if you open the whole machine, which involves risks). Also, if not used with the correct technique, the motor's vibrations are annoying, as well as the noise. Additionally, it takes some getting used to its weight and how to handle it, as being semi-professional (that's how I would baptize it), it has many characteristics of more expensive machines. I have no opinion on the comb and scissors, I don't use them. It also does a very satisfactory trimming on the mustache, although it is not recommended for such use due to its weight and size.

I bought the Baldfader on sale for €42.5 and paired it with the Wahl Barbering Shaver, which was on sale for €15. Together, they are perfect for my beard. Previously, I had the Philips Multigroom, but its battery died after 2 years (as is quite common with rechargeable devices, if you read reviews) and it required 2 minutes of charging for 1 minute of shaving, always connected to a cord (it didn't work any other way). Quite ironic, as it didn't function properly when plugged in and would lose its charge as soon as you unplugged it. The Baldfader, on the other hand, in my opinion, cuts just as well as the Philips and I don't have to worry about its battery dying. It cuts close enough to use the shaver and achieve excellent results, just like the Philips did with its replacement heads. However, the Baldfader has a larger cutting area, like the shaver, and I finish more quickly. The larger cutting area does have its drawbacks as it makes it a bit difficult to maneuver around the cheeks. The machine does indeed heat up with use, as others have mentioned. Although, for grooming my beard, which takes 10-20 minutes depending on whether I want to trim it with precision or not, and shape it as I'm not a professional and it's not easy for me to do, it heats up from not at all to very little. So I imagine it would heat up more for hair.
